I primarily play horror games. They don't scare me, but I love spooky stuff.

between 0 and 2. 99% of horror games are irredeemable garbage. of the remaining 1%, about a tenth are actually unnerving.

I'm a 5.
I rarely play horror games myself but I always end up taking breaks after one scare.

Fatal frame also really fucked me up, I could only play the intro, my brother had to play the rest

5 which sucks because I want to enjoy games like Silent Hill 2-3 but hot damn shit's just scary to me which is funny because I beat SH 1 on the psp then again I think I muted some parts.
One of the following reason is because I just hate jumpscares as a whole. The act alone frightens me even if the picture is just 2 dogs fucking and it doesn't help that I'm somewhat jumpy IRL mainly if I let my guard down.

Does this actually happen to people? Yeah, I understand being spooked by a jumpscare and getting pissed at it, but usually you just move on with your life.

It depends on how well you can suspend disbelief and get immersed in any given game. Some people are really good at that, and if they happen to also be jumpy or prone to getting scared easily, that's the result.

6, I have to avoid horror games like the plague or else I literally cannot sleep and even when it gets a little dark during the day I have to turn on all the lights in my house. Even non horror games with horror elements will do it to me. I played lobotomy corporation for 2 days and got nightmares both nights. I don’t know why I’m like this.

I'm playing through Dying Light and I'm at a solid 3 usually. Nighttime runs can be scary as fuck with Volatiles chasing you everywhere.
