Vidya PTSD thread?

These fuckers. I don't even feel any shame bringing a specially teched team for that fucking Whale Town mission just because of these guys.

I got spoiled the first time but they still almost kicked my teeth in because I fell for the stray enemy that pops up at the pick-up location trap.

You bitches don't know jack shit about pain.

>map is timed
>map is large
>these cunts are hiding
>you have to groom every inch of the map an hope you trigger one running into overwatch fire or take a hit, possibly death
It wouldn't be so bad if there was no timelimit, and I do understand it in some mission, but they took it too far.

>first time playing XCOM of any sort
>newfoundland level
>tfw trying to escape, but also trying to fend off zombies and bugs
>pic related happens to a couple of my guys

I modded out timelimits on my XCOM 2 playthrough and still couldn't find the patience to finish it. The overworld strategy components were fun, but the game is like playing space D&D with a DM who hates you and himself

>for every chryssalid you fail to kill instantly on the same turn they pop out you lose a squad member AND they get zombified
worst enemy in the game by far

timelimits in xcom 2 are pretty fucking stupid, always had to pick the faction card that added more time the game is impossible in some missions without it, god forbid one of those queen mobs spawn on a short fused mission.

What game is this? Wolverine something?

X2 Wolverine's Revenge

Isn't the key to Newfoundland mission to just run like fuck after the chrysalids appear and not even try to kill stuff or just send one guy to plant the bomb while everyone else hangs back? Its been a while since I played it and I got my ass kicked the first time but I remember there is something you can do that makes it much more survivable.

The cloaker sound in Payday 2

Yeah I noticed that if I run like fuck the Chyrsalids spend their whole turn just running too. I didn't really know the actual mission beyond some of the spoilers, I know Chyrsalids appear and that you set a bomb later. I was expecting to run back to base but my Sniper was too far back and got ambushed by the Chrysalid that appears at the dock near the base. Still the most bullshit moment is the first time you meet this fuckers in a Terror Mission.

you're mom

They don't have shit on the originals

I wanted to replay this but the steam version CTDs every 3 minutes. Also, Dungeon Siege 2 is never talked about, but it's really fucking fun.

Newfoundland is piss easy once you figure out what it's about. Even in LW where they added non-chrysalid enemies to make it more challenging.
Now, these guys, on the other hand..

This was always the hardest game for me on SNES.

I played that for the first time the other day. I hated it.

not that difficult, just insanely disgusting with all that build up

You want pain? Feast your eyes on this level. Sorry for tiny ant sized screencap
Unironically I enjoyed it despite the frustration playing it as a kid. Wish they'd bring back the Spider-Man X-Men platform crossovers.

No match for my specced out judge hand cannon

This game. All of it

>character that can fly and blast lightning
>let's put a TMNT style underwater level in!
What a stupid level choice. I think this was an unused asset from another game so they stuck it in the game. Or the game designers were idiots.

There's a pregame extra option that doubles the turn limits without even needing to mod the game

Dunno if you need WOTC for that though

>Waaaaah
>*Snap*
>Slurp
I vaguely remember it as a kid, but that sound is forever burned into my mind. Same thing with the Cerebral Bore from Turok 2 SoE.
