ok I don't have one

Nah.

But I thought PC was irrelevant as a gaming platform? Why are they so adamant about beating it?

Reminder: 99% of """pc players" spent their life savings to buy a pc, let alone spend another $500 on a console.

I'm a psfag but idk how people think nextgen will obliterate pc
I'm 99% sure a 50k will be better than ps5
But a 500$ pc? I'm not sure
Console are good because it's cheaper at the initial cost but over the generation it's more expensive than a pc with same specs

PC is still a better value since I buy all my games during steam or gog sales. Never pay more than twenty bucks for a videogame.

do consolefags really eat up the better than PC bullshit
its just going to be another gen of 1080p 30fps

>kills a 3k gaming rig
>but gets outperformed by a 1.5k rig
weird huh

>do consolefags really eat up the better than PC bullshit
Yes.

>30 FPS
>Not silky smooth 12-24 lows and highs

stable* 30fps at 1080p
cinematic 12fps for 4k

(*only in performance mode)

The only thing consoles have over PCs is they can be comfier to be lying on the couch playing. Otherwise PCs are more powerful, have a larger range of games and can be cheaper than consoles (total cost of ownership).

$3k PC's are for rich retards for incredibly passionate hobbyists.
Most gaming PC:s are built with $500-2000 depending on whether you're using parts from your old one or how much you're willing to invest in a dumb-ass overpriced graphics card & processor

Was about to mention this,
They've literally tried to market their console like this for the past 2-3 gens

this is the 5th generation in a row that would "make PCs obsolete" or whatever

>*invalidates the couchfag argument*

It's about time consoles had competitive hardware again. The last time it happened was about 15 years ago.

I'm torn between getting an XSX for the whole gen or getting a PS5 now and a new PC in about 2022-2023.

This generation can't do 1080p at 60fps, last generation couldn't do upscaled 480p/600p at 60fps. The next gen is looking to be unable to do 60fps AGAIN. Top of the line PCs can do 4k and 120 fps.

>spend £800 on a PC ten years ago
>upgrade the GPU once two years ago
>still runs games at max spec

Why you lying

Devs won't be taking advantage of the new hardware for at least a year, if they ever do. I made it through the gen with only a graphics card upgrade, and am using a cpu that was shit back in the 360 era. I've been looking for an excuse to upgrade, let's see if these consoles can do it.

Just like the last three gens, as soon as the console is released, it is dated. With most Xbox games being playable on win 10, what's the point?

lolno

Well it depends on what you mean by 'better'. Consoles are certainly a better value if you're just talking about the hardware. They're sold at a loss for the first few years.

I've heard these claims before.
They've always turned out to be blatant lies.
Consoles are shit and will always be shit compared to a well built PC.

>PS5 NVMe faster than available for PC
Mine is 5,000MB/s Read / 4,400MB/s Write, why can't they give numbers for theirs?

>imagine paying a license for a cable that has fewer features AND lower bandwidth when a better and more importantly free alternative exists
use DP

Is this true?
30 fucking fps?

HAHAHAHAHAHAAAA

they won't even kill my 1k rig let alone a 3k one

I hope not. I'm about to pay more or less that amount for into PC gaming. Should this happen, I'll be really mad.

>do consolefags really eat up the better than PC bullshit
every single generation because consoleniggers get a generational refill each gen of 9-15 year olds

>nvidia rtx 20gb card blocks your path

They do this every gen. The point that a lot of people miss is that the next gen of consoles WILL shit all over the average gaming PC. Because the average "GAMING" PC is a GTX 1060 with 16GB of RAM (or less) and a Quad core according to the Steam survey.

I don't know much it will cost to compete with the XSX at launch but I imagine you will be paying close to $1000 extra for the benefit of playing it on PC. And don't give me that "MUH PIRACY" shit either lol, where's RDR2 and Anno 1800???

Are "$3,000 PCs" even a thing anymore? It seems like most decent, dedicated rigs are $800 to $1,000.

Consoles are actually in a worse position than they were a quarter century ago because a decent Pentium 1 setup WAS $3,000 and a $199 PSX compared pretty favorably to it

another 8 years of 30fps silky smooth.
looks great

Not fucking likely. 50% of Zig Forums has neither a console nor a pc.

It's probably the ones with threadrippers in them

i mean 2k is what you'll pay for top of the line stuff but the rtx lineup has been retardedly inflated shit only bought by retards from the start

C I N E M A T I C

PC costs more if you keep it up to date with periodical upgrades, like you should. Being more expensive is compensated by having a crushingly large library through emulators and multiple console generations worth of games and free online. The cherry on the top is the ability to customize the experience you want from games using settings menus that consolefags can only dream of and, of course, mods and fan patches.

My rig cost less than $1,000 and has 64 GB of RAM. The only reason these consoles are bragging about the speed of their SSDs is because this time around they only doubled the RAM of their prior yen predecessors when in the past they usually included 8x or more of the amount. My GPU alone also has 16GB it RAM, the same amount as the consoles. I don’t think it matters if my SSD has half the theoretical throughput of a PS5’s when my RAM capacity is is so fucking high and the throughput is many times faster than any SSD.

>not having all systems you want to have
kek

I recently dropped $2k AUD (~!.4k USD) on my build, that is enough to run most things 144fps @ 1440p

ps5's ssd is already headed to pc

>dies to $2999 rig
Ez clap

they make these same shitty articles every new gen, it's nothing new, they always become obsolete the following week

What model is it? I'm looking for specs and all I get is marketing wank without a read / write speed.

>company that makes money from advertisers claims company that is going to spend the most on advertising for the next 12 months is amazing
This explains it.

Saving a bit for a year isnt my life savings.
Then again youd need to work to have that kind of money

Halo Infinite is literally 4K/120fps. Although granted most games will probably target a way lower resolution and framerate after seeing the backlash to Halo's graphics.

>he doesn't have 2tb of ram of which 1.8 is allocated as a ramdisk
where is your speed now?

>$3000
>live savings
Are all console fags welfare abusing basement dwellers?

I literally can't stop laughing at the fucking illiterates going "we have an SSD now, this changes everything"

Attached: 1580997843962.jpg (720x960, 88.55K)

>$2k every 5 years is a lot
I know some places it is but not in the first world.

A computer is useful for things other than games. A console isn't competing against my pc, it's competing against the price of my graphics card at most.
