How come piracy isn't popular on consoles?
How come piracy isn't popular on consoles?
I can play pirated games on my Switch just fine.
Probably because all it takes on PC is downloading a pirated copy. On most consoles you need to hack them first, so that requires a few iq points most console users don't have.
because its not as easy
But it is?
Most of my PS3 games are pirated.
it's usually too much effort for normies to do it but it's a great way to revitalize an older console you have lying around
You need to hack the console, and this locks you out of multiplayer t. has a hacked console
Because consolefags bathe in money
depends on the console and hack that is available, for switch it doesn't
>Weebshit
Yikes
Because we're good boys
Because the manufacturers can force firmware updates that close exploits by making them a requirement to run newer games.
>not easy
>go on local e-market
>hustlers selling chipped consoles cheaper than original
>but I have console already
>then just pay less than €50 to get it chipped
>buy Dreamcast
>insert burned game
>play burned game
I literally had to do nothing.
>google "new game codex"
>download
>execute the .exe
Dreamcast is like the easiest console to pirate on ever, thats not really a fair example
1) most modern console piracy requires a specific firmware that is vulnerable to exploit. So this means you either have to be willing to forfeit updating and playing new legit games for potentially years or pony up for a second console.
2) barring really base level shit like using winrar, piracy on PC is fairly straight forward—get illegal game, mount iso, install, and maybe drop the fixed application file/steam emu file into a folder. Consoles require way more work. First you have to exploit the firmware—which can be a fuckin’ chore depending on system, find the game on net, usually transfer with an external HDD or SD card, install (which takes forever on most consoles as CPU is shit, HDD slow).
3) With most multiplatform games coming out natively on PC since mid 2000s and the porting quality to PC leagues ahead of PS2/Xbox OG days, there’s little reason to fuss with the process with rare exceptions. An unpatched Switch is a great and comfy hacked console.
I pirate on 3DS, Switch, Wii, Wii U, PS3 and PS4. It's great.
Is this a real question? I don't have to hack my PC to pirate things for starters.
It is. It's just more under the radar because the people who do it are confronted with their illegal methods more directly. Pirating something on PC is much more similar to a normal PC activity.
I love consoles with hardware exploits, I don't have to worry about any upcoming software update.
Still burning games on CD-Rs with the notoriously fussy discjuggler software. Don’t need to do that on PC. And CD-Rs are getting hard to find in stores since 2010-ish.
Also, were largely talking modern consoles here. Different ballgame.
This. Only with people with a lot of money to waste would buy consoles.
Depends on the console.
Some are easy to do while others require hardware manipulation which can turn away people.
Then you have shit like the Dreamcast.
Aggressive whack-a-mole firmware updates and telemetry.
They would go nuclear over gameshark and actionreplay like devices in todays world. It ain't the 90's anymore
bro come to brazil, we'll show you our pirated PS2 with GTA SA mods and our macaco cuisine
Wrong.
People with a lot of money don't waste it.
That is why they actually have money.
Poor people overspend and remain poor.
Consolefags are amonst the poorest of the poor because they can't handle money and don't understand cost efficiency at a concept level.
The whole damn device is a giant piece of physical DRM.
Just go to South America and Asia (excluding Japan and South Korea). You'll have fun there.
hacked consoles are kino
There is something to what you're saying, but the truth is in the middle (or more like, at the extremes, in this case). Rich people do waste a ton of money, especially Americans, most of them have consoles. Poor and unintelligent people buy into the agenda of console manufacturers advertising their products as >cheap. Basically, consoles are for rich and poor people. What they have in common is that they are all NPCs.
It is on Nintendo's consoles
You have to have a set amount of money in the first place to spend money frivolously. While you can make a good salary and still be poor due to debts or extreme spending, most people are poor because they make comparatively nothing.
Alright just tell me who the character is OP
