Do you play them to escape your responsibilities, and try to get away from real life?
Do you play them maybe an hour a day to relax?
Be honest lads, what age are you, and why do you still play video games?

32. I play because they're fun, but also as an escape from reality. I dont play as much as I used to because I feel like I could be doing other things like exercise or working on my embedded skills.
was gonna kill myself then said fuck it I'll play this game I like and get to rank 1 and I did it. did that for a few years and ended up going back and finishing college, changing my mind set, feeling better that I was able to accomplish things and now I don't want to kill myself any more. really makes me wonder how many people who dedicate their lives to 1 game were going to kill themselves and just said fuck it like me and basically threw years of their life into a game instead.
Be honest, why do you care so much?
28, lost my job, got a new job with a starting day 3 months from the actual interview. Played games to pass the time.
I used to play a lot when I was working nights because it made my eyes tired and it helped me going to sleep in the middle of the day.
29. I mostly play games with friends nowadays as part of our interaction with each other and I still have fun doing it. The last singleplayer game I beat was Doom 2016.

Because I already have my dream job making more than I'll ever need, so I'd say I've earned the right spending the rest of my days doing something fun like playing video games in my free time
28, i cant actually play games just like to make mods
28. Every couple of weeks I try playing something but I usually lose interest after an hour or so.
>playing videogames
now this is just stupid, I played enough games in my life to watch LPs now
I don't play them as much. I still play some older games to escape to a better time.
I rarely play over an hour a day or even week sometimes
20, I still play them because I just collect now. Not really all that fun anymore
23
Escapism primarily, sometimes my life gets way too stressful for whatever reason and videogames are my happy place.
look at this cuck
Ditto
>not starting a family
>not having children
Yes goy just consoom you earned it.
26. I still get joy out of them and the design theory behind them. They're also a key part of my social circles at this stage so I get a lot of enjoyment out of that too
26 and i still have time for them even though i work 2 jobs

explain this
28.
I barely play them any more. It's so hard to work up the enthusiasm when I should be doing something more productive, but then I end up doing nothing but refreshing Zig Forums or twitter.
What do you do?
I want to get to that point where I can have fun monies and coast through life, and piss off
I'm 24 and am definitely going through a period of reduced interest in games. Especially contemporary ones. Likely related is that I have my second kiddo on the way here at the end of the month, I remember not playing too much before and right after my first son was born also. Games are a hobby for me, but while they can take my mind off things they do not make me relax, I don't think. I play games because they're fun, there's nothing I'm escaping per se.
Currently, I'm in the middle of an MGS3 playthrough, and have been playing some Fall Guys and Burnout Paradise on the side. I was playing Hypnospace Outlaw and Return of the Obra Dinn but I'm at a point in both of those games where I can't play them casually at my desk while I'm working, and would prefer not to return to my desk and my PC after I'm done working.
Who is this he looks really familiar i think he's a car youtuber

I can't leave my home to work because I'm immunocompromised and arthritic (autoimmune disorders suck)
I play games to pass the time until I finally die
31, NEET, little else that I want to do than play games.
25. I'm comfortably employed as a dba. I enjoy video games, so I play them often.
>kids
Normalfags not welcome
>why do you still play video games?
Because it's fun and it helps me disconnect from real life.
Getting married and having children is the very definition of good goy.
Furthermore every married man or man with children I've ever met is painfully miserable. They immediately lose any paycheck they make to their family and purposely work more hours than they get paid for just to not have to go home.
I'd rather stay alone with no misery and a full wallet.

It's pretty ezpz work and you make assloads from it
28
still enjoy them as much as I always have
only fans account when?
someday, my son will post here. that's depressing.
29. Have a good job, some friends and sometimes manage to get a date with real life girls.
I'm trying to play less so I can focus on exercise, cooking and developing my own projects, but I still love games and game a fucking lot.
Piss off
27, I play a few hours every night trophy hunting. I work 40 hours a week, go on dates, read a book a week and workout regularly.
Why do you care so much? Let me guess: divorced?
the collapse is right around the corner
not having kids is a mercy
31, I barely play any of them anymore, just a handpicked few that fit my niche taste, I mean there's not much to do during corona. But my waning interest in video games is part of a general change of mood I've been having for the past year or so. I've wasted the last 20 years or my life achieving nothing. 31 is by no means old, but I think it's high time to get my life in check and focus on things that are important.
Reducing times spent on video games (although I would love to be a game designer) is part of my self-improvement. I've been kicking a lot of bad habits lately - I take more care of my body, I eat more healthily (and less), I do more excercise. Never smoked/drugged/drank alcohol and right now I'm trying to get off coffee. And I'm in the process of deleting most of my porn and porn links, because I'm also losing interest in that. Next up I need to find a new apartment and a new job, but times being what they are, it's gonna take a while.
I also came to the conclusion that I should meet new people. I've literally 1 online friend I've never met, and nobody else. During my 20s I didn't mind isolation (though I had friends inbetween) but I'm starting to feel hollow and purposeless, which sucks because I miss the times when I was an island.
Well no, but yes.
>age
Nice try CIA. 25.
Anyway, I like vidya because they're fun. Got a good job right out of the uni, but it's taxing to play as much as I did before with it. Physical activity actually makes my brain rest more than vidya.

What would I need to delve into that? 4 years college/5+ years experience bullshit? Or would it be really beneficial to get certs in shit like comptia, mysquirrel, and linux?

>barely at all
>I started league again to get through lockdown, served its purpose
>no I dont escape with them
>no I rarely play at all
>I used to play games atleast 10 hours a day or more every day form age 13 to age 18
