my 3dsxl stick broke a while ago after 4 years of loyal service, over 500 hours on monster hunter games and a pokemon duel broke it, i still won with the +pad, anyway there isnt a single shop that fixes these and i want to keep playing my save files, i read an article that said:

Not him but, yeah it's difficult because you have to disassemble the entire thing just to get to the circle pad. It's time consuming and you have to be careful not to damage any ribbon cable and motherboard. If you do this shit all the time and have all the tools it's easy peasy but ifixit always assumes this is your first time.

Just buy a replacement and swap it out. You can get 3D printed metal ones that are far superior to the original stick because they actually have grip.

If you do a system transfer, your games, saves, and any other data are transfered to the new system.

Your old system will just be a blank formatted 3DS though.
