Yeah but it doesn't matter because Catherine's new ending is literally a better version of it. Before they offered different things and were balanced between good, neutral and bad endings. Now Catherine has two good endings, one where she offers the same as Katherine, while Katherine has two bad endings because the devs don't like her.

I wouldn't be surprised, katherine was pretty much the villain of the original game and honestly having known and been with girls like her, she is not the choice that will make vincent happy.
One of the major themes of this game is subverting the societal pressure of having a normal relationship with a pushy, bitchy cunt who shares none of your interests, has epic career goals and only cares about the institution of marriage. I don't think you're supposed to want to be with katherine if you're not a complete simp, but the alignment system mimics real life and makes you seem like the bad guy if you follow your heart(dick). But the endings endings where vincent stayed true to himself and allowed himself to love who he wanted to love were the best ones.
Basically Catherine represents a girl who loves YOU for whatever reason and going forward in life simply being together is what's important to her, while Katherine represents more of a girl who loves society's opinion of her, her own future ambitions, is simply trying to go through the motions of securing a "normal life" and she will come to realize this over time.
Katherine is the weak man's choice that will fuck you over in the long run but gives you the illusion stability until then. Katherine and vincent are simply not compatible people and the game is about vincent's chance to realize it before he dooms himself

Problem with this is that Katherine was, for better or worse, the more realistic option. It's easy to gloss over how Vincent had strung her along for so long, which is part of why she was acting the way she was. Catherine on the other hand is the 'perfect waifu' option; the thing you only see in fantasy. She has no real prospects or ambitions outside of (You), because (You) are totally awesome and amazing and perfect.
