yay half my mods dont work now.
Does this game take a lot of know-how to get into?
>He uses cheat mods like tilled soil and embrasures
>He plays with combat extended
more like rimjob
Not at all, you can start playing on very easy difficulties then it's basically a city-builder
No. You can have fun with it even if everything is on fire and all your people are dead or dying.
Who the fuck cares about this DF ripoff the garbage dev won't even put on sale. The one time he does, it's fucking 10% off. This cunt thinks his shameless clone is worth anywhere near a full price game instead of the bottom of an indie $10 barrel? I haven't even bothered pirating it since 0.18 or some shit. This game unironically looks worse than DF base game. At least with the basic symbols in DF, you can use your imagination.
Never takes long for the DF autists to start screeching.
If dwarf fortress was so good why aren't people playing it instead of rimworld
I like both.
>add jetpacks to the game
>instead of being cool they just let you make big jumps for a while
At least there's a new armor that comes with that but still way to shot down my expectations
>30$ sci-fi colony game
>can't actually do most sci-fi things like gene modification or AI (except for turrets)
>no z-levels
>skill decay
>base game is incredibly shallow
>17$ DLC that adds a faction that will fuck you over if you don't get psi through them
>psi is literally contacting an Architect to do the magic (technology) for you
>nobles are insufferable and faggoty to have
>the only interesting things it adds are overpowered spells, better power armor and a new method to escape the planet (suck off the Royalty hard enough)
It's literally a mod game, you only have fun by filling it with mods which you can get with a pirated copy anyway, development takes too much compared to what's actually added
The Royalty DLC pisses me off. The author wanks his favorite magic faction so hard it ruins the setting of the game. Why the fuck does a sci-fi game put more focus on magic than Dwarf Fortress?
Great, there go the mods I wanted to try out.
You will probably have way more fun when you don't know what to do
Don't care, dropped this shit when the DLC came out.
what did they add/change?
Is this game even worth playing any more if you don't own the expansion or whatever? It doesn't seem like they've added to changed anything to the base game in forever.
Removed: Fun
Added: Tedium
What is with you weird sales retards. You guys do this to Factorio, too. The games are already way less than most games price a when not on sale, you're just hooked by this pavlovian "SALE" conditioning and can't see beyond it. If they doubled their price and put it on permanent 50% sale I'm sure you'd be fine with it.
I don't blame you. It really looks like they just shat this DLC out in an effort to content block people out of the game if they don't pay up a second time.
Added: fun
Removed: not based
Yes and no, the basic systems are pretty easy to learn, but they can get super in-depth and really fancy once you get going.
If you mod it just get crazier and a lot more fun.
For example, the first couple times I played I couldn't figure out why my colonists always got infections after being wounded in battle, but I learned that you need to keep the rooms clean, non dirt floors, and have them rest in bed as long as possible
The psycich shit seems so fucking stupid, like a mod no one would ever choose to use
ehh the systems are pretty shallow, the more you learn about the game the more it feels like a hollow shell wearing dorf fort's skin. Like, as soon as you realize everything's tied to wealth even when using randy it's boring as fuck as you're totally in control of what happens to you.
>the game the more it feels like a hollow shell wearing dorf fort's skin
As someone who doesn't play Dorf, explain how is it more deep than RW outside the Z-levels
- Psycast - Word of Love: Speak about someone's romantic virtues while using psychic suggestion to implant romantic desire in the listener. For days afterward, the listener will feel psychically-induced romantic attraction towards the other person. This greatly increases opinion and makes them much more likely to attempt romantic advances and marriage proposals if they get the chance. This psycast can be used to connect two other peopl, induce love for the caster, or force oneself to love another.
Literally RAPEWORLD.
>jetpack is only for royal DLC
son of a bitch
You can't control it as easily. Once you know enough about dorf you can build super safe fortresses, but it takes a while. With rimjob, all you need to do is keep wealth low and you'll never be in any risk. Most of rimjob's mechanics can just be ignored.
>everything's tied to wealth
It is stupid, but what do you think it should be tied to? Not sure how many other ways there are to measure advancement, power (capacity, income, current)? Food storage? Built walls and tiles?
Yeah I get that, a new player wont for a little while, and learning the game is half the fun
I'll rim your mom.
no
Here is the guide
>day one build a room and some beds
>day two start making a farm
>day three make more of the buildings
>day four start to make a room dedicated to a fridge
>day five defend base from attacker (it's very easy at the start)
>day6+ do more shit that you want
>With rimjob, all you need to do is keep wealth low and you'll never be in any risk
The new patch notes say you can now choose the game to ignore the wealth and instead scale the difficulty based on the time spent but the game ends up being harder
I will now buy your DLC
> Phoenix armor: Cataphract armor with a built-in flame launcher and extreme heat resistance.
Is it a major update for DLC owners? I hope so, gotta keep those cheapfags in line.
He says a lot of things. Like, he specifically said the game doesn't work the way it does.
>day 100 base is now a fortress
>day 150 all colonists are full on cyborgs
It adds more quests, equipment and psychic powers for Royalty so yeah i guess
It's really not designed for it. The game's built to pressure you if you get too rich too fast and knock you down a bit. The RNG is so heavy on combat that making that more lolrandum will just be a coin flip for colony collapse if you aren't using the various bullshit techniques the game allows like heat traps and mazes.
