Why does this game feel so soulless?
Why does this game feel so soulless?
Because it's not one team's passion project, but one man's ego showcase.
you hit the nail on the head, it just feels like one person sucking his own dick

Compare it to early Kojima game and it just has no indentity, no staying power, nothing.
Because the whole thing is a gigantic exercise in missed potential. It desperately needed a stronger producer and another writer. Some interesting ideas but they never go together in the way they should and the whole thing becomes corny and retarded.
Seriously, huffing Kojima's farts is only fun if you're Kojima.
>crossing through the mountains, surrounded by BTs, can barely see through the snowstorm, equipment degrading, barely making it through and then snowboarding down the rest of the way on a floating carrier into the daylight when a Low Roar song starts playing
SOUL
It's a Japanese man trying to be deep in English. It comes across as cheap and ineffective. Also, the like system is imbalanced, and the walking simulations get old fast. I tried to "break" the game a bit by motorbiking across the rugged landscape, but Le Chiffre's fetus wouldn't let me.

you may be confusing the game with what you spent the 45 minutes between playing it and making this post doing

>has no identity
ask me how i know you haven't played the game
Kojima can't write stories to save his life but he is so weirdly authentic about it I can't help but find it charming.
I feel like people who shit on it simply haven't played it, which is what the case is most of the time for Zig Forums. I went in blind and it was a very soulful enjoyable experience, definitely a memorable game that will stick with me.
not an argument
Because you're playing it on PC
It missed the mark, I feel. A stronger story and maybe more variety would've fixed the game up just fine.
I did play it and it was very disappointing
It really isn't much of a walking simulation. It's more like having to periodically hit a QTE to keep upright if you've got a bunch of stuff on you. The physics feel super basic and terrain doesn't seem to matter that much. To me it's another potentially interesting feature that ended up being a half-assed let down.
To feel the soul you have to have one yourself.
This game is pure soul
Yeah, whole game feels like Kojima didnt even try
>Shitty robot skeleton legs cant keep you from falling over and drowning in a small creek
Observe the blue/yellow/red system user
I do now, I just don't understand why you can fall over in a small creek with such strong robot legs! It's not a big deal that I have to shove down a ladder or something
Its made by a guy who calls himself and his team "homo ludens" despite saying he doesnt play games, one that tries too much to sound smart in english, and his only way to cope with the bad reception was pseudointellectualism and assumptions, assumptions that his fandom parrot like theres no tomorrow, the game is flawed for what it is, not for not being a shitty fps, funnily enough the game becomes a shitty tps, i wont defend americans though, fuck them
because you have bad taste
I dont enjoy actors awkwardly standing in a room and repeating cringy dialogue and a gameplay that is the definition of wasted potential, therefore I have bad taste
>I just don't understand why you can fall over in a small creek with such strong robot legs
Because you can’t say go go gadget legs and have the exoskeleton stretch down to the riverbed
That is a point, what was Kojima's reaction to the games reception?
I didn't have any internet access at the time so the last year is a blank for me.
He blamed it on americans being too stupid unironically
FPBP
i've never seen such a bland soulless landscape in my life
