For the first 2 years of the next Xbox generation you have the choice of playing your games at 720p 30fps on Xbone S, 1080p 30fps on Xbone X, 1080p 60fps on Series S or 4k 60fps on Series X.

I agree with you completely. It's why I think next gen is going to be a repeat of this gen and everyone is going to pass on the new Xbox and their cross-gen strategy is going to be the anchor that drags them down.

They said they will have a crossgen period for atleast a year. They might drop it after. Most third parties will target crossgen anyway because they care about the install base they can sell their product to and not selling consoles.. Sony might have a couple of games build for next gen early.

All the cross gen games are games that were slated for xbone and are getting an enhanced SeX port. MS is being pro consumer here by not immediantly forcing you to buy new hardware to play games that would work perfectly fine on the old hardware, while snoy sells $60 spiderman dlc

PS5 Will have better graphics. I believe most third parties will focus on 1080p, if a game needs to run on the series S on 1080p,there is no way it will use all the capacity of the series X.

The games were ALREADY built well in advance with xbone in mind. the series x port is just boosting performance with the newer hardware and MS sees no reason to force people to buy new hardware to play games made for older HW
