What the fuck were they thinking?

they assumed people were ready to go digital only when they weren't. unironically one of if not the best psp model with cfw.

more portability.
it was not okay back when physical games were a thing, now its really good i bought one, actual handheld not like nintendofag shit

Great PSP but no one wanted to go digital only in 2009.
Fuck most people still don't in 2020.
What WERE they thinking?

It was just ahead of it's time

>What WERE they thinking?
that it would sell in japan where digital only was actually viable on top of offering a japan only service to give digital copies of physical games.

I would have bought one if not for the proprietary charging port

What makes it better than the other models, assuming all are loaded with CFW?

>Cheap, digital only PSP
Hello emulation device
>Proprietary charging port

I want Sony to release a new handheld so fucking bad you wouldn't believe.
t. PCfag

Xperia Play was better.

I want one.

It was dead on arrival. What was it’s release, 2010 or 11? PSP was dead in the water by then from what I remember. It was just sort of fading away and this was the worst solution.

I want a phone like this.

it is a phone

>cradle dock
>Dualshock 3 bluetooth connectivity
>component out
>perfect output on PS1 games
Sony was based, telling Nintendo to fuck off way ahead of the time

New CPU so it runs snes and other games flawlessly

>16GB of memory built in
>Battery that doesnt shit itself and get posted on Reddit
>Premium feel and still holds value years later
I think they were definitely based

This was the last truly portable handheld device.
After this tanked you get the Vita and then Nintendo goes with the switch.
The future these companies envision is one without pockets and everyone carries all their shit in a bag.

Maybe that's all for the best considering police are being defunded and the ones that are left are telling us to just give our shit to muggers. easier to do that if you just have everything in one bag.

They wanted an actual portable PSP and flash memory prices had dropped enough at that time that it was actually feasible. Shame that they didn't have enough follow through to get publishers on board so it had a lack of software support then with a fumbled launch it killed any chance of its success. Still the best PSP model if portability is what you care about most.
The silver lining to this is that it failed so hard that Sony learned early that they had to require or heavily encourage digital versions of games for their Vita and PS4 launches.

What system even is this

PSP Go

PSP Go fuck yourself

iPhone

It was supposed to be a prototype design model for the PS Vita.

The PS Vita was supposed to look like this.

are you retarded?

The entire PSP line was ahead of its time, but it was doubly true for the Go

PSP Go to the polls.

Like the original PSP, it was too ahead of it's time.

The CPU is the same as the other models.

It cost too much for what it was offering. Also, the Playstation Store was shit so it's pretty much a CFW machine.

>implying small devices aren't peak aesthetic

Nokia N-Gage

Could have worked as a cheaper digital only alternative to the regular PSP. Problem is, it cost more than a PSP-3000, had no expandable memory, and digital was still a meme at the time, so several games were flat out inaccessible unless you had CFW.
