I do but learning them is almost like homework which is probably why the genre is dying

I do but experiencing rollback netcode has spoiled me on FGs that don't have it, so I've dropped off on playing SF and DBFZ.

The only fighting game series I like is Mortal Kombat. Even then I only pick up a couple characters and learn a few bread and butter combos with the basics so I'm not really even good. I don't have the time to get gud at a high level.

I tried it. It is rewarding when you start beating people online, but it feels like learning an instrument. Too much time spent in training mode, doing the same exercises over and over again. not worth the effort. I'd rather put that effort into something irl like learning to draw or play guitar, then play other video games for fun.

I love them but don't have time for anything more complex than smash bros as an adult.

This,Would probably play more if they had alternate cool modes like Tekken 4 or 3 especially ,it mixes things quite a bit
