>Best Handheld ever but heavily flawed.
>Just relaunch it packed with a bunch of games and fix all its flaws.
>Make milllions.
Why doesnt Nintendo do this?
Nintendo sitting on a gold mine
>not the sp
the original was fucking gay compared to the sp
Sp was half assed desu, the screen saved its ass.
>buying a handheld gaming device when phones have fully replaced their functionality
>t.never owned a GBA
>Why doesnt Nintendo do this?
Nintendo's business model is milking customers dry selling them the same 5 games OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER.
Somehow people are fine buying literally the same game once every couple years. Nintendo does not want you to own games in a way that carries forward. They have no desire to sell a nice piece of hardware full of games. That's the last thing they want to do. If they made a GBA mini it would be a marginal piece of shit, and collectors would shit their pants over it.
Then people wouldn’t buy a switch for the faint hope that they release GBA classic console on it.
>If
>Still have my old GBA from childhood
>Decide to upgrade it because this thing was my best friend in my spare time growing up and the switches are dead and it's hard to play games on
>Replace the shell, buy replacement switches
>Buy replacement speaker for more robust sound
>Buy IPS screen
>Realize my soldering iron is actually broken
>Have to now go buy that too
Looking forward to making this guy into a cool dude again. Gonna play MMBN once it's done.
You know they would only put the normiest of the normie games on it and not the best ones, like Aria of Sorrow for example
I say this in literally every thread that has an OP disgruntled about Nintendo not releasing old games - just get a raspberry pi and load it up with whatever games you want for whatever console you want. Put it in a case, some of which are designed after retro consoles, and you got yourself what a mini console should actually be. Why is this so hard for people to comprehend?
We wait.
>best handheld ever
They really should rerelease original Gameboy games, I agree OP.
>used my supercard to make gba roms of black bible and viper gts to watch in 3 frames per second
never underestimate the power of the coomer
You say that as if that's not the industry model. All businesses do is continually release sequels, but it's somehow okay when they do it.
I used to save playboy pictures on my DSi and then go to the bathroom for a quick fap between classes
Original felt better to hold. Just put a backlit screen in it.
yes i agree on this part
the crystal version of it was the superior version compared to the micro and the sp
throw in after market rechargeable batteries and you'd get more gametime
plus the gba headphone jack adds more channels of music some how
All I want from Nintendo is to release a hinged Switch model with the controls on the bottom and the screen up top. Being able to close it and fit it in your pocket.
GBA to SP was the single biggest mid-generation upgrade nintendo has ever had on any handheld lmfao
only fringe autists would pay full price again for GBA games
ah wait
it's nintendo so that's most of the customer base
Alright lads, best GBA games and recommended mods/patches. GO!
Did you not hear about the Analogue Pocket? $200 for a console that plays all Gameboy games with optional peripherals that cost anywhere from $30 for game adapters and $100 for a dock. I've seen people uploading images of their order invoices and they've spent like $450 on the piece of shit
You're not wrong, but I don't think anyone would be buying anything like that if they then had to pay for actual games (again) as well. Also, a lot of the time, people buy those emulation mahcines because they will be collector's items later due to low supply.
Jesus, I should of ordered two of these.
>Scalping a preorder of a product that won't come out for another year at best
>People are actually paying 500 dollars to a rando scalper that doesn't even have the item yet
the first SP was really fucking half-assed. i'm still mad that i got the shitty frontlit version.
i do prefer the original GBA's form factor though. i'm planning to mod one with backlit screen.
Literally the only benefits of the SP were the battery and screen. Everything else was worse.
And both of those can be fixed via modding these days.
You can order it and then say you never got it when it shows up. Ebay takes the customer's side so you'll get your money back, the console and an unhappy seller

This list is of course incomplete and subject to bias.
>buy a dsi for like $50-$70
>hack it in 10 minutes
>have every gba and ds game, among games from other systems
That said, I would not be mad to see a gba re-release
Solid list. Add tactics ogre
SP was only better for having a charger cable & backlight. OG GBA is far superior ergonomically. A GBA "mini" that's actually the same size as the original but with a charger cable and backlight would be fantastic.
Granted, there's a lot of awesome GBA games that wouldn't be included because they aren't either Nintendo or the most notable third-parties. Not having Advanced Adventure, Omega Factor, or Summon Knight would be a waste.
>wasting your phone’s battery on games instead of emails and shitposting
Tactics Ogre isn't a GBA game. It's on Super Famicom, Sega Saturn, Playstation, and PSP.
GBA is undoubtedly my favorite console. There are more games on GBA that I like than there are PC games that I like, so a modern Game Boy that plays GBA and maybe SNES and MAME would be the big fucking tits.
I wanted an Analogue Pocket but that shit sold out faster than your mom offering 25 cent blowjobs, so I'm not sure what to do now. Probably gonna brick my 2DS XL trying to homebrew it. God knows there isn't jack shit I play on that thing anyways.
There is one for the GBA. Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis
Well shit, I didn't know that. Cool.
the sp is not comfy at all
whats your top5 gba games
Most people agree with this. To add to what others said, the clamshell aspect of the SP was also nice and protected the screen in a pocket. It was also slightly more compact. But it was way less comfy to hold.
There is a reason why IPS and battery mods on the original are popular, it’s the superior design.
Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga
Sonic Battle
The Sonic Advanced Trilogy
Metroid Fusion
Wario Land 4
Honorable mentions go to Sword of Mana, Kirby's Nightmare in Dreamland, and Star Wars Episode 3
