Help me get into this game. I love DS1-3 but Bloodbourne just doesn't sink it's teeth into me and I always drop if after a couple bosses.

Was it because I was a huge block fag in DS and now I can't rely on that? Are all the weapons just kinda average because they all have multiple forms?

Uhh you might be screwed with the appeal then. I find it so much faster and more enjoyable without the shields. I also find it kind of hard to go back to Dark Souls after BB because I love the trick weapons so much.

Axe is the Zweihander of this game for maximum funtimes.
Hacksaw is the DS3 longsword aka ez mode stunlocking.
Cane is both bad and unfun.
You can buy the ones you passed over once you get the badge from the sewers.

Weapon variety is crap, but you get used to playing without blocking pretty quick. You have two different dodges depending on whether you're locked on, and a whole fuckload of stamina, so just get used to running backwards instead of blocking when you need to gain space and breathing room.

The gun parry is a powerful tool if you choose, but you can beat the whole game never using it. Trying to get damage out of your guns raw is futile.

The timer on taking back lost health is very generous, if you just jump in and attack again you'll likely only lose more, so take a moment if you need to get a better timing.

That's pretty much the basic premise. A human perceives it as a dream although Yharnham along with all the other areas in the game are as real as reality but exist on a different plane of being. The way it's perceived is more of a reaction between the godlike entity and person observing it blending together though.

How that effects reality itself is something I'm unsure of.

Just cause its called “a dream” and “a nightmare” in the game doesn’t mean it didn’t happened. Play the game. “Dreams” and “nightmares” are used to refer to different pocket dimensions
