Are controllers a ploy to give people carpal tunnel...

Are controllers a ploy to give people carpal tunnel? I cannot understand why anyone would use a controller over mouse + keyboard save for a few kinds of games which basically require a controller to be played properly.

Am I the only one who things these things are just WAY too uncomfortable to hold and use? I swear, I play a lot of PC games, and the moment I pick up a controller, my wrists just start SCREAMING at me to stop.

Sounds like you got frail little pussy wrists

KB+M is more damaging than controller
imagine being so retarded you can't even hold something in your hands

You probably just have really shitty wrists or hands then...

Controller's are designed to be fun to play the game with, not give carpal tunnel.

They ARE designed to break fast though, so that way you'll go buy another one.

Desk work and using a kb/m is one of the biggest reasons why people get carpal tunnel. I have never once heard of someone getting it from a fucking controller.

How so?

Really? I draw, played music for 10 or so years (both piano and guitar), I program for a living, and I've never had any problems with my wrists at all. Maybe It's just a matter of getting used to it, but I find controllers to force much more unnatural finger positions than any other thing.

To me, the way you hold a controller is far from regular hand position, and both having your hand on a mouse and over a keyboard allow you a much more natural position.

>PC newfag thinking he knows anything
Kids shouldn't be allowed to use PCs.

Bait or a fucking smoothbrain. Controllers give your wrist a much more natural position than keyboard and mouse.

>something designed for games
>something designed for typing
Yeah it’s a hard choice

you're at a higher risk of getting carpal tunnel or tendonitis using m/kb than you ever could using a controller. I don't even use m/kb unless I need to because my wrist hurts so bad after an hour.

I don't know what you mean by this. Having your fingers curled is much more unnatural than having your fingers simply resting on something. To use a mouse, you don't need to do anything other than let your hand fall on the mouse in a resting position, with a controller, you have to actively grab it. Same with a keyboard. The wasd position is very close to your hands resting position.

Also, not many people seem to be aware of this, but carpal tunnel has to do much more with how you use your fingers than your wrist.

Damn, nice argument.

Go back to being cucked, Kyle

Never claimed it was an argument, bitch, but you obviously don't know shit about PCs or why they are good.

What do pcs have to do with this thread in the first place?

>hurrdurr
Retard.

I fell for controller meme and only use them for racing,g ames, I prefer KB+M for everything else

I don't play fighting and hack n slash games though

Stop playing FPS and ser how controllers are better for most types of games

These are comfy as fuck, shame they can't be used without VR.

Yeah I used computer for work for more than 15 and don’t have carpal tunnel, but they do give carpal tunnel if not properly used. Carpal tunnel is a really common work disease in office spaces

>Designed for games
>Have to take thumb off of stick to press buttons
Designed by a retard maybe.

If you are on a PC anything can be easily used as a controller.

It feels like the xbone controller doesn't jive with Japanese games on PC. Always with controller drift or not recognizing face button input. Only fix is to restart PC.

You are using them wrong, stop using your wrist, and stop grasping the mouse. The main problem with controllers is that you have to grasp to keep it steady.

>I have never once heard of someone getting it from a fucking controller.
If you're never heard of people having wrist problems because of controllers, you're either being dishonest, or you haven't looked at all. Any input device which makes use of your hands can give you problems if you don't use it properly, even a fuckin wii remote.

>Desk work
Most people who do desk work know nothing about hand health at all. I have had tons of work colleagues who use their laptop's touch pad for hours on end daily, and after a year they naturally begin complaining. Another big problem is with mouses, because 1. people hold on to mouses (mice?) for dear life, for some reason, and 2. people have weak arms and so just use the wrist, which you should not do.

>Are controllers a ploy to give people carpal tunnel?
they shouldn't, you get CTS through moving your digits too much while there is pressure on the underside of your wrist, such as through bad posture while typing, using a "wrist rest", or using tight wrist straps while working out

what you have is more likely RSI
you should shake your hands like a retard every few hours to your body's natural lubricants to do their job if you're in a mostly static but active use posture

gamepad - racing, tps, beat em up, fighting...
mouse and keyboard - fps, strategy, point and click..

there you go, now stop posting this retarded shit of x is better than y

It astounds me how retarded PCopes can be.
Half the time they come across as toddlers on their mums desktop.

>I cannot understand why anyone would use a controller over mouse + keyboard save for a few kinds of games which basically require a controller to be played properly.
Because using a mouse and keyboard while sat in a comfy chair or sofa can be a hassle?

This is just a matter of preference. I use controller for tekken, but I cannot understand why you'd use a controller for dark souls, for instance. I've tried for a while, but it just feels sluggish. Then again, I don't regularly use controllers, so yeah.

Racing games, fighting games, 2d platformers (never 3d ones, though), top down shooters. Other than this, keyboard + mouse is just better to me.

I've been using a kb/m or a controller practically daily for hours for over two decades. Zero wrist issues. Is this a zoomer thing where they all have glass wrists or something? How can someone have such fragile wrists?

>You are using them wrong
and you're using the controller wrong
see I can bullshit too

No but I'm 100% positive that games with joystick wiggle mechanics and rapid button presses gave me arthritis

>gamepad - tps
hell no

How to use it then? Are you implying you don't have to grasp a controller to keep it steady?

I'm not using shit wrong. There's literally vertical mice used to correct this very issue. How are you going to say i'm using a mouse wrong, but you're totally not the one holding the controller wrong like a retard?

I primarily game on PC but use controllers more than the mouse and keyboard lol. You probably just have Snoyboy hands or something.

Weird
I got carpal tunnel on my left wrist due to years of FPS gaming on m/kb and now I can only play with a controller to avoid the pain

I got carpal tunnel from KB+m a little less than a month ago. You're full of shit.
