What happened to SF after 3rd Strike?

Taking risks BAD
That's why we get the same fighters in every game and why these games flop so hard.

It made no money and fuckcom blamed it on le risky style and nothing thought about how they were singlehandedly bloating fighting games at full force in that time. 20 years and they still think this way. Fuck AAA, mailbomb the suits

It got better.

SF3 Third Strike is a lightning in the bottle kind of game
There will never be another game that's just as good

People bitch, pissed, and moaned about there not being old characters in the game though.

Shotofags are the reason fighting games are dead.

>What happened to SF after 3rd Strike?
They made the most successful and impactful Street Fighter ever next to SF2

The only things SF4 was impactful for were dumbing down the game, 3D models, and online

and getting literally 100x the sales of Turd Shite

whats so bad about third strike
coming from sf4 entry into series

The series got okish but still bad for one game and then returned to the awful shallow shittiness of 3s.

It became a F2P with a premium. Blame Ono. Thank God he's gone now at least

They realized that parrying is a shit-mechanic that is way too risk-free and abandonded it immediatly.

3rd strike is shit and you dont even play it. Dead game. Shit game

>blame chris metzen
>blame matt ward
>blame ono
im scared bros

it improved
after SF4 it actually became balanced too

SFIV revived the fighting game genre in full force

sfv is shit

yes

The first version of SF4 sucked ass though, making 60% of fighters shotos sucks ass. Shotos are so god damned easy to play too.

it peaked, third strike is the perfect game, it can only go downhill from there

Parrying is a bad mechanic and ruined Third Strike. Stop parroting streamers, nobody actually likes Third Strike

3rd strike is a type of game where people play with someone they know.

The first version of SF4 was the best version. Rounds ended fast and the cast wasn't inflated with retarded, out of place setplay characters that touch you once and win.

>combos bad
>fireball fights and dragon punch spam good

>the cast wasn't inflated with retarded, out of place setplay characters that touch you once and win.
>akuma
>cammy
>rufus
>abel
>c.viper
>fuerte
it was they just hadn't figured it out yet

Capcom decided to start oursourcing their games.

The last good Capcom fighting game was Capcom vs SNK 2.

i have fun using remy

>complaining about outsourcing and then praising a literal asset flip game

Way to out yourself as a scrub.

Yeah, they were there, but it was a minority, and the rounds were over quick so it was more like an SF2 experience of getting touched and suddenly being in the next round, and not the USF4 experience of pretending you have any defensive options that aren't going to get option selected, while you roll the dice four more times praying you block whatever fucked up pushbox interactions happen next that you actually just cannot block unless you've seen it before because of how unpredictably the visuals represent what is truly happening and what is going to happen.

EA got in,
The game.
