Why devs aren't targeting 48fps instead of 30?
Why devs aren't targeting 48fps instead of 30?
Most cant even get a stable 30 and you want them to go higher?
they all look the same. I told you fucking faggots that it was all placebo because the eye can't differentiate above 12 fps, but you all laughed at me. Well who's laughing now?
30 is the lowest you can go before your game starts visibly chugging.
The human eye can't see above 24 frames per second. Filmmakers have used that framerate for literally decades and I think they know a little more about the human eye than a bunch of incels.
Consistent 30 or inconsistent 60?
Most people aren't 144hz retards and 24fps/48fps induces stutter on 60hz or 120hz screens
That's 24 silly.
Consistent 30 with no frame pacing issues.
Then why did everyone hate The Hobbit's high frame rate?
because it looked like ass
Filmmakers use that framerate because it looks like a movie. Something about a smooth framerate being unpleasant since movies tend to show very tense situations.
The input lag is very noticeable at 24 frames.
This is the final redpill.
48 or 45 should have been standard at PS4 era but it's irreversible now. Buy a PC or stay at 30 fps forever until cloud gaming.
cloud gaming won't really be a thing until we figure out a whole new internet technology around the globe
Yes. That makes it even worse for console players.
okay retard. Its not like we have v-sync, g-sync and free-sync to fix those issues.
High framerate makes movies look cheap, soap operas and sports are filmed in 60 fps
Where do you think the frames that don't exist come from when you can't hit your monitors refresh rate. the reason vsync drops you to 30 fps if you can't maintain 60 is because not being able to double every frame makes the output choppy and noticably desynced. The best solution is to use adaptive sync or triple buffering but the latter adds tons of latency and the former isn't available on all displays.
because 48fps with a 60hz non vrr display looks like a stuttering mess
no, 24 is only used because that's what movies were originally filmed at.
Depends on how inconsistent we're talking about.
60 with dips to 50 is much better than perfect 30. 60 with dips to 30 can still be better if the dip are infrequent (say, happens only on a big explosion). Frequent dips to 30~40 might be more annoying than playing on perfect 30.
The human eye can't see about 12 fps, you absolute fucking retard.
Movies are filmed in 24 fps because humans have TWO eyes.
because you're a fucking retard
What if I wear glasses?
I tried to playing a game at 60fps and it makes me physically nauseous, I actually went and stood next to sink for 5 minutes waiting to vomit. I think 30fps is good for me and most people of my nation (India), anything higher than 30 and it does make us feel sick, that's why I'm buying a PS5
Higher framerates look like shit. I saw a MS flight simulator video where they played around framerate settings. When they set the framerate to 60, it looked like a PS2 game. At 30 FPS, it looked truly next gen.
because devs don't think of frames.
yes they do, just see what happens when you turn off frame limiter in GTA San Andreas
>This is Sony's target audience
Somehow this doesn't surprise me
>144
Are you poorfag? The standard if the master race its 240hz try to keep up poorfag plebian cuck
>master race
>plays ancient games in 720p on "very low"
We don't see in frames user, we see with light.
actually humans can see far above 60 frames per second. it's just they have to be trained for it ( like fighter pilots).
