I played the shit out of CTRNF before playing MK8 on my Switch and goddamn I just can't play MK8 because of it.
CTR is so much more tight, fast paced, and has a way higher skill ceiling.

I was saving money for a PS4 but better a get more for a good PC.

Part of it is because the game has such a high skill ceiling. If you get fucked by a weapon, your race can be entirely ruined because somebody else can keep going three times as fast as you, and realistically you'll never catch them. Plus it just feels bad when somebody cucks you, when the driving mechanics can be refined so far. Kinda like if you were racing in a sim, and then somebody just rams you and ruins your lap. At this point I almost feel like this game is better as an autistic time trial machine than a fun party racer
Partly it's also because the online has such a high latency that you'll always run into some kind of bullshit and it feels annoying

No, online is shit and I personally dislike the handling. The Sanic game with transforming cars was closer in terms of overall quality.

I think the ONLY thing Mario Kart has over it is the much lower skill floor, which allows pretty much anybody to be competent at the game. Meanwhile crash takes a few hours before you really get a grasp of how to race properly

CTRNF is overall a much better game with an insanely high skill ceiling and is perfect for perfection autism, but MK8 has a much better online and is overall more relaxing to play.
