1080Ti here and was silky the entire trip at 1440p. You must have a bottleneck.

horizon has about as much going on in its open world as BOTW except with more foliage and being a worse game in general

Was plesently surprised to see my pc running it at 57 average ( benchmark ) on max settings 1080p with only minor hiccups during gameplay, I got worried that my 1660 super got exposed as a meme GPU but it's pretty solid even with this game that everyone's having trouble running.

I'm having no issue on my 3700X/ RTX 2070 at 1440p.

It's more inconsistent than bad. Sometimes I get 60 for a whole hour then suddenly can't get over 35. One time I died at 60fps and respawned at 45.

Xbox One X is comparable to a 1060 and that's better than a Pro, so no.

Another example then, Resident Evil 2 on the pro runs at 60fps but it still has a ton of frame dips on it.
On my 1060, again it runs butter smooth.

My 970 is fine. But my i5 4440 is struggling. I don't blame the game for that though. That CPU was meh when it came out in 2013. I haven't had any crashes.

Is RE2 a CPU bound game? I remember getting a consistent 144fps(locked) with a 1070/6700k at everything maxed out even though it's 1080p. Pretty impressive for Capcom.
