Only time I really didn't like him is in the fight with Issacar

What made Walter turn out like that? Dude seems pretty cool so far.

Hoy man says kill god yes

All things considered walter was relatively nice

How long is this game? I started playing yesterday.

I just beat the seaweed man after medusa and i don't think i will keep playing this.
The music is great and the English voice acting is surprisingly good but the game is boring and easy as fuck. You can slap the bossess around like little bitches since every single ability is available to you because of demon whispering and selectable fusion skill transfer. Does this game have anything redeeming for a non-newcomer to the series or should i just move on and listen to the full ost?

depends, if you do just one run (which is stupid and pointless) maybe about 30-40 hours, if you complete the game 90%-100% then you're looking to 60 hours or more

>depends, if you do just one run (which is stupid and pointless)
How come?

Hoy there!

4 endings

People will hate me for thos, but I hope we get human party members again.
I really liked the samurai squad.

>that easily swayed from the Lord's teachings.
That's fine, user. No hard feelings. Please, here is some money. Go to Cafe Florida and get yourself something nice to eat, maybe read a couple of manga while you're there. My friend Johnathan and I will go do some maintenance work on the Yamato Perpetual Reactor.
Wouldn't want Tokyo feeling the big crunch in these hard times.

Alright I'm gonna leave this thread I think I'm gonna read the wrong post and spoil myself.

Have you reached the bottom of naraku yet?

yeah I grabbed the ring for my assignment.

that's what I wanted to avoid

Thanks

I actually meant the actual bottom floor of naraku where the land of the unclean ones is, but nevermind.
Have fun.

Not really, it only gets easier once you leave Naruku and your HP is finally high enough to not die from any attack
Since you can save anywhere, the stakes never get particularly high even if you get ambushsmirkraped anyway

Reading the plot (maybe) and playing a different SMT is a better use of your time
The sequel definitely improves on IV's mechanics

IV:A is basically SMT IV.5 and is far more balanced on all fronts you just mentioned.
So you can play that.
You're already familiar with the setting so it shouldn't be a problem to follow.
The game will give you a quick rundown whenever they mention some specific callbacks from IV.
The story is far worse, but the gameplay is probably the best the franchise has to offer when it comes to fusion and combat mechanics.
Be sure to play it on war or higher though.

I've been playing it again on Apocalypse and I didn't remember the writing being this bad. It's gonna feel really good when I side with /our boy/ and massacre everybody. Gameplay is great but I have one gripe, and that is the way they changed hama and mudo. I prefer when they were low chance to hit but instant death if they were, and smirk raised the chance of connecting instead of how they are now. I never thought I'd say it but I actually prefer the way Persona 5 did it and just introduced light and dark pure damage spells instead. I don't know maybe I'm just a faggot.

*Miss*

Move aside for the real Chaoschad

I prefer traditional Hama and Mudo too

I prefer light and dark being gimmick elements
They're intimidating in enemy hands and a SMT signature, and fun to wreck random battles with

Otherwise they're just another fire/ice/elec/wind, and you might as well ask for slash/blunt/pierce and water/earth/whatever to join the ungabunga element pool
And you have to build and carry around yet another demon to cover another weakness

That's pretty much exactly how I feel too, dunno what they were going for other than to add more things to bossfights you need to be able to cover or what, curious how it'll be handled in 5

I don't like it either desu.
I also think it homogenizes the spells a lot.
You basically have 6 different spells that all do the samething only difference is that some demons resist force while being weak to lightning.
I can dig that to a certain extend.
A magic build would be all about having all elemental skills to efficiently get press turns and with physical skills it is all about pure DPS by stacking boosting physical bonuses such as pierce.
But I hope now that smirk is a thing that in SMT V if you hit someone with a smirked Zio that person gets stunned for a turn or hitting with a smirked agi will cause an enemy to burn and take extra damage for a few turns.
Just like how smirked antichton will reduce also act as an debilititare.
What I also didn't like was magic pierce since it kinda made almighty redundant and made all the spells feel even more samey.

Om my casual playthrough where I probably only hit like 30% of side content and bitched out and went law route it was 42 hours 31 minutes
Closer to 60 on most playthroughs especially neutral route

Play on master mode
Its the hardest smt game ever made

Fuck da luxors, casualry bros 4 life

Nah that's a fine opinion. Most smt games have human party members after all
Only a try hard nocturne baby would be angry over that
