If you've been in either CBT 2 or 3, you'd know that the shop requires 50 of that shit currency you get for rolling garbage in the gacha and the only options you get are 2 4*s that rotate monthly.

It's only locked in the current pioneer beta, it was completely available before. Some chinese players already poured thousands in the game to get most 5* (and they were right to do so since Mihoyo said they would get a bigger percentage of what they already spent in the final game), that's why you had some people running with both Venti, Jean, Diluc and Klee.

Only the chests that don't respawn give you premium currency. And the ones that do literally give you like 1/16th a pull majority of the time. I'll admit the dailies giving 60 is kinda nice but the majority of the ways you get currency is a 1 time thing and you'll be in a drought after the 1st month.

Game has gacha, characters are locked to that gacha, but yes you do get a lot of premium currency by playing.
In the CBT I put over one hundred hours in and had a blast. It's got the garbage whale shit but I never felt it was needed. Dismissing the game because of gacha is incredibly dumb. There's a lot of game here for free.
Just go in knowing what it is. You cada still have a fantastic time.

You'll be in a drought if you stop playing and skip events. Just like any gachashit game. That's how they work. Whales obviously can just pump money but regular player stick around and have to, can't believe im saying this, play the game.

Nah, the multiplayer is pretty flawed in that you can't progress the story together and the visiting player can't open any chests. Basically you're going to have to do all the quests separately and explore the world separately to get the chests to progress at all.

I'm worried about the gacha, but I'm going to play because it has everything I want in a game, and I'm comfortable with the fact that the only thing china can do with my stolen identity is make me look better, I have no money and nothing useful to my name, likely not even my SS#. If I have to wander around for a while in the overworld with the base characters until I get QiQi and Klee and the other inevitable loli releases, so be it; 5*s are gonna be a bitch for f2pers but I'll be playing all the time, I'll get em eventually.

thats false unless the changed it in CBT3, all chests respawn, just the better ones have incredibly long respawn times, the ones from events like major puzzle -> room with 3 major chests and those ones that require a region key don't respawn as far as I am aware but that's it.

There's nothing in the game that can even steal your identity. The only things they ask for are email and password. So unless you're some idiot that uses the same password for everything you're safe.
