>Started in 2016 >developed by Cloud Chambers, a studio created for it using veteran of the industry (which may or may not have old members of Irrational and 2K marin, who respectively made Bioshock1/Infinite and Bioshock 2) >Built in Unreal Engine 4, could switch to 5 if needed >Reboot - "New and fantastical world" >Stunning narrative and systems-driven experience >Wes Anderson like scripted cinematic moments >Visually stunning textures and materials for physically-based rendering >Highly reactive "living" world >AAA first person shooter >Multi-platform
Is anyone from the previous games even involved? If not its gonna be trash
Isaac Fisher
a highly reactive living world sounds good, but I've heard that marketing speak before so I'm wary
Dominic Powell
Don't be so negative, Bioshock 2 mostly was not handled by the Bioshock 1 team (who already was working on Infinite) and was quite good. it's my favorite but don't tell anyone.
They just need to find people who understand what makes bioshock bioshock. i wonder what will be the city this time and the critics of the game.
Josiah Hill
infinite was a masterpiece so sure. tried 1 too, didn't like it that much.
Nolan James
> Hope It will be an SJW clusterfuck disaster that will provide me with entertainment in the form of 4channel shitposting material. > Expectation The above. The chances of it being good are just about nil. > Fear None really, since I wasn't ever expecting it to be good. I guess that it ends up being the aforementioned SJW clusterfuck disaster but gets great reviews anyway and goes largely uncriticised by normies.
Nolan Bell
Needs >focus on interesting and imaginative environments >exploration >a grid based inventory >none of that dumb bullshit that Infinite pulled And it'll have my interest.
Grayson Lee
Well, to list a few things they CAN'T critize again >objectivism was in Bioshock 1 >collectivism was in Bioshock 2 >Infinite was religion, facism, and even a little of "uncontrolled revolutions" but Infinite was rushed on this to focus more on the time travel
Jaxson Cruz
I think the best hope this series has at this point is if Ken Levine is no where near it. He had his chance. 2 was the best one anyway.
You're full of shit OP t. Industry vet with 2k contacts
Evan Sanders
>most well received entry in the franchise killed the franchise
I bet you think Skyrim killed TES, too
Dominic Hill
If they can take what worked from infinite (the underlying story, characterisation and world building), avoid getting bogged down in quantum nonsense and pseudo-intellectualism, and polish the gameplay (though I actually really liked how infinite played), it’ll be incredible. With 2K all of that is too good to be true though so it’ll probably just be dogshit. I really hope it isn’t though. I’ve loved every bioshock game immensely.
Evan Green
>well received By critics? lmao at ur life Also, Oblivion killed TES
Cooper Lopez
Care to tell us what you supposedly know then user?
Easton Moore
literally only Zig Forums and crowbcat viewers think BioShock Infinite is bad
Cooper Martin
Sure, fuck it, I don't work for them. It's 1960s segregated america themed. It's helmed by one of their newer woke studios.
aka you'll be BEGGING for Infinite when that trailer drops. enjoy!
Jacob James
>zoomer: the post Yikes brah
James Sullivan
It’s not actually set in 1960s America though right? It’s gonna be in another new dystopian city in that period right? Pls.
Asher Lopez
> To tax the black more than the white, is that not cruel? To forbid the mixing of the races, is that not cruel? To give the vote to the white man, and deny it to the yellow, the black, the red -- is that not cruel? Hm. But is it not cruel to banish your children from a perfect garden? Or drown your flock under an ocean of water? Cruelty can be instructive, and what is Columbia, if not the schoolhouse of the Lord?
Given how woke the co-dev is (the main dev, not cloud chamber) they'll "try" for a new dystopia, but fail. Word is the creative leads are really hung up on the 60s thing and will probably just make a caricature of that instead.
Sebastian Ortiz
This. The game was universally praised for a reason: it’s legitimately good. Sure the time travel nonsense ultimately meant that the ending felt a bit rushed but the world building, characterisation, underlying story and message, and ultimately the gameplay were all amazing.
Kevin Jones
user the sauce is literally from the website of the devs, try again with your bait. i like infinite, but clearly not as much as 1/2
Anthony Parker
read my other post, faggot
Christopher Cruz
Fucks sake we’ve already had a dystopia founded on racism why can’t they do something new?
Camden Peterson
Three people. Art director and two designers.
Chase Smith
Can we just drop "Bioshock" brand already? SystemShock and Bioshock 1 were great immersive sims with some cool narratives but it really changed it's image and what target of what it was trying to be by the time Bioshock Infinite came out. If it's got nothing to do with mid-1900's break away civilization with pseudo-philosophical villains/writing then it's not Bioshock. It's more and more apparent they just want to create linear FPSes with a heavy story focus instead of what immersive sims are known for, so if the new title is a different setting and back to being immersive sim they should just drop "Bioshock" altogether.
Jeremiah Murphy
>Hope? None >Expectations? None >Fear? Another shitty game but I have no expectations so I can't even be disappointed
Infinite really killed any interest I might have for future Bioshock games
Benjamin Roberts
user the game is made by Cloud Chamber, and nothing storywise was revealed about it and a bioshock would be in a fictional city, not a real one. America and racism also was already explored in Infinite
Get ready for disappointment. Screencap if you want. I'm laughing at you now. I'll be laughing at you during the trailer reveal. The main game team is not Cloud Chambers. They're a support studio for this dumpster fire.
Aiden Lewis
from IG or 2kMarin? unless it's both
Joseph Stewart
Does it need some basic bitch political theme? Just make a sequel to System Shock in a cool retro-futury setting. That's what people really liked about Bioshock, when you get down to it.
Hudson Long
well, what is said from the websites >Cloud Chamber is hard at work on the next entry in the critically acclaimed BioShock series. Our team consists of veteran BioShock developers and expert game makers from other mind-blowing titles, and together we’re going to create worlds that you’ll want to experience. >2K announced that Cloud Chamber has started to work on the next iteration of the globally acclaimed BioShock® franchise
James Roberts
>Hope? It goes back to it's SS2 roots with skills/inventory management and a creepy atmosphere >Expectation? the gameplay is even more simplified than infinites and it's just another generic shooter like infinite with Trump as the main antagonist >Fear? that my expectations will be right. Well at least we have System Shock 3 and prey 2 coming right? haha
Grayson White
I think it's important to have one, but done right. they could do interesting stuff if done well in the world building. >prey 2 not happening son. even if i would love it
Jordan Ward
Infinite was the best game in the series, it was the perfect mix of action and story, if you disagree you better have something better than "waaahh it's a sjw game"
