Literally as addictive as crack

Literally as addictive as crack.

How did they do it?

Also the music is fucking fantastic.

I just finished my first run with the defect. How do I spice things up? Try to get ascension level 20 with all characters? What do I do after that?

>Literally as addictive as a slot machine
it's not rocket science, user

Much like crack, I tried it for 45 minutes and haven't touched it since.

the daily runs are actually pretty fun

You have to specialize very early on on what you want. Do you focus on defense? On offense? Small deck? Huge deck? Etc.. I would say it is 2/3 skill and 1/3 luck.

Needs more content besides grind harder Ascension levels.

>What do I do after that?
I just play dailies, and A10 runs on a random character if I want to have a not bullshit time.

They did a really good job with the card design, every class have different viable archetypes with enough versatility to make up your own strategy.
Music is just okay though.

>How do I spice things up?
Start by beating the heart with every character, then you can go for ascension or try to beat the achievements.

I always die at act 3.
It seems impossible to defend against that much damage.
How the fuck are you supposed to beat this game?

Multiple ways depending on which class you're using.

Post deck. You might have too many attacks, not enough relics, etc.

I've tried the three first classes, got my shit pushed in every time.
I also don't understand how you are supposed to build a decent deck with those random cards you have to choose from.
It always ends up being an unpleasant mess to play.

Literally play Monster Train instead. It BTFO slay the spire.

Don't pick cards that you don't want. Pick good relics.

Is there any reason I should invest time in those daily leadership runs?

I like Slay more.

It needs more enemies and bosses. It starts to get repetitive after a few runs. Also the artstyle is very low-effort and atrocious.

Idk but Monster Train has a lot more depth and receives content a lot faster. Slay the spire added 1 more character in like a year.

I just don't like the floor system Monster Train has.

Slay the spire is just garbage. Monster Train deserves the spotlight, not Slay the spire.

Your opinion I guess.

It’s a fact.

During act 1, try picking cards that are good on their own. Make sure you have around the same amount of attacks and blocks, card draw is always good.
Then around act 2, you should be deciding the direction of your deck. Pick cards that work with the ones you already have, skip if there aren't any.
Act 3, almost always skip unless it's something you really need.
Remove strikes and defends from your deck whenever you can, they're bad cards that dilute your deck.
Relics are what helps you scale into the late game, try to get as many as you can.

>Literally as addictive as crack.
How? It's so repetitive.

Remove strikes.
Try to fight more elites in Act 1, which typically means picking up strong attacks. Try to fight more in Act 1 in general, to get more card rewards to mold your deck.

At the very least, DO NOT take Iron Wave with Ironclad, that card is fucking shit. This is basically a universally agreed opinion.

A lot of rare cards are ironically not that good on Silent. Doppleganger is garbage.

Reprogram on Defect is also pretty shit, but that's just my opinion.

Boss relics, you often want to grab one of the energy relics.

>reason
For fun?

Alright, I might give it another try.

The game wasn't so much of an overtuned mess in the past beta but it grew into this monstrosity over time, sadly.

Iron Wave is the one that attacks and also adds block, right? How is that bad? I always found it pretty useful, especially since it's an attack rather than a skill.

Basically two parts:

The numbers for the card aren't that great.
It takes up a spot in your deck, which means you aren't drawing a better card in its place. And this reason is the main one on why you should remove strikes/not pick a card every time you're offered one.

I hope the other characters get some slight buffs to put them closer to Watcher's bullshit levels.

if he cant even beat it once on any character, thats a problem with him
overtuning doesn't come into play until ascensions
