well him and chief are light years away from earth and by the looks of it they cant get contact from earth. Chief can handle the stress due to his other journeys but not him.

Saved a super-mutant in power armor hoping he'd help him get home but instead forced him to land on a heavily occupied Halo, getting their only ride trashed. Then the guy walks off to take out AA guns without leaving him any kind of defense from said enemies. Keep in mind Brutes and Jackals torture humans for shits and grins as well as eat them. Chief is a badass but most marines literally can't keep up with him with most getting killed while trying.
