If you can't rapid-fire airblast then you can't spam it. It is designed to be a flamethrower that rewards aim/skill but ends up just being a self-crippling weapon to flex on people with like the shortstop.

Sadly valve nerf it so much that the flare gun do a better job at it
a much better way to rework it would be that it gets the +50% repressurize on successful reflect
and -50% on whiffs
would make it a great but punishing weapon to use.
If you can't airblast as frequent as a soldier or demo can fire then it's useless. What a stupid debuff to give it.

well, the fury is supposed to change pyro from a support class to a direct combat class.
It also sucks that the only flare gun that DOESN'T take skill is the best.
The scorch shot way more consistently deals more damage that the other flare guns to single targets AND groups. It's like they made pyro an intentionally brain-dead class by punishing you for trying to use the harder weapons.
Pyro is just a gimp in a hotsuit, nothing new.
Not to mention it destroys stickies, bounces heavies around and lets you blast jump (even if less than detonator). Scorch shot is such an easy and all-purpose tool that you have no reason to equip anything else.

this would be fine if they did away with the repressurization being shared by both m1 and m2, being unable to attack after an m2 is just terrible
The detonator also shouldn't have its 25% damage reduction. The downside should just be that it minicrits instead of fullcrits.
how to fix the scorch:
add
-66% less afterburn damage
and no more bouncy flare
now it's still an annoyance tool but not anywhere near the damage of the other two
and remove soldier :)

Flare punching Scouts with a fat 90 damage crit when they get in your face and think they're being more predictable with their dodging than they actually are is reason enough for me to run normal flares. It makes my dick hard.

I'd like to remind you that a single scorch shot flare deals enough damage to kill a 125 health class with the afterburn. If you hit a light class and they can't find a source of healing they just fucking die.
