I'm the only one who doesn't think this looks bad. I like the dismemberment and fast reset of the melee weapons, I guess I just have shit taste or am easy to impress. Anyways they confirmed like 3 days ago they were still unhappy with the melee combat and are fixing it but you know.

it doesn't matter, first person melee will always look awkward to many people no matter how hard you try
as long as it doesn't have that lock on and directional shit from KCD im fine with it
add good sound effects and dismemberment and all solid

dunno how it sounds, but there is pretty extreme dismemberment added to the game where you can even stack and throw around body parts, from what ive heard from past Q&A's

Eh. Looks fine enough for first-person melee.

I kind of want swordfighting feel rigid and precise. Like it was a practiced martial art, and not just someone flailing around.

But if fighting with hammers and bats and such also looks like that, then that would definitely suck.

I like it too. Bit more of a tune up and it will be good, not great.

Not enough information there to tell how it interacts with the enemies. Melee gameplay is all about manipulating hitboxes and playing around start up and recovery times. Vermintide nails it for first person melee and the reason VT melee is so good is that all the swings are modelled as actual hitboxes so your use if the moveset matters, and the animations interact with player movement instead of the melee feeling like a detached floating sword that waves around in front of you as you walk around.

In VT when you hold a big attack above your head your character slows down during the wind up. When you release a big lunging attack while moving forwards your character speeds up and actually lunges. When you aim an overhead attack at a head it will hit the head and deal extra damage and stun. When you use a horizontal sweep and turn the camera to drag it across 3 enemies you can hit them all.

So far in that webm this might as well just be the HL crowbar mechanically.
