I haven't spent any money on MW except during the very first season. After that it just pays for itself and I get the weapons I earn for free.

Seems like a fair deal to me. Better than SF5's lies about never having to spend real money if you actually value your time.

They are only remotely acceptable if they pay for themselves with in-game currency if you finish them, plus the other rewards on top of it, and even then they're still pretty shit.

It's genius really.

Of course they're charging you for skins and currency and whatever, but in return, they not only get your money, but your engagement. Charging you for pack of cosmetics is one thing, but charging for a gauntlet to get said content, with the incentive that you can get the next pack for free if you keep your engagement up even more?
The fact that they give you just enough premium currency to buy the next one must mean that the majority barely skeeves by finishing it enough to get the next one for free, and even if they don't, hey, it's only 10 bucks.

No wonder it's everywhere.

It's why I hate this and other subscriptions. It's supposed to make you want to "get the most" out of your limited time but it just makes me burn out faster because I'm maximising my time playing it.
