Will my old rig be able to run cybercucks 2077?
Is intel or AMD worth getting now?

Absolutely. It's gimped to run on base Xbox One and PS4 so your rig is more than enough. Also, the fact that you're targeting 1080@60 and not the 4k meme will make things a lot easier on you.

Damn Zig Forumsro, yeah i've been pushing this build for awhile. At this point i'm sure my cpu is bottle necking my GPU. Gonna wait for the next gen cards, haven't been following CPUs so i'm out of the loop, is asus still making good mobos?

Well i'm looking to upgrad to 1440p and 144hz monitor.

Stick with 1080p with this build. As other user said it'll run C77 just fine on low/mid settings because it was optimized for underpowered consoles.

>playing games on low/mid and 1080p
Why even bother?

Seriously don't do it. Esp the 1440p part. Res is a total meme. The difference is genuinely not noticeable in regular gameplay unless you put your face right up to the monitor. I just swapped from a 1440p 144hz monitor back to a 1080p 60hz monitor because it has better colors. Which leads me to my next point. If you absolutely must try out the meme for yourself to understand why it's a meme, then at least make sure you get yourself an IPS. DO NOT, under any circumstances, purchase a TN display. The colors are so washed out that even a normie could notice. It's legitimately not capable of displaying the color black. Just gray. High framerate can be kinda nice, but it's still not as great as you've been lead to believe. It's a lot better than high resolution though, which really is 100% meme. In summary, in my unsolicited opinion, you should at least consider a 1080p 144hz IPS display over 1440p 144hz TN display, which I bought and now regret.

Who the FUCK still uses Speccy?

> low/mid
I didn't say anything about this. The other user did, but I play at 1080/60 on max settings
> 1080p
Yes. Resolution is a placebo meme unless you have 2020 vision or are playing on a massive 60" TV

>Zig Forums
You need to go back, faggot.

>switched from 144hz to 60hz
Why would you do this to yourself?

Thanks for the input.Yeah, i'm looking at 1080 144 hz monitors now. I'm going to have to upgrade my cpu though. Just to be able to hit ultra on most newer games @ 144 fps.

I had actually been running the display at 60hz for awhile before that. Locked 60hz looks way better than a framerate that fluctuates between 60-144. If you have a 1440p 144hz display, you aren't running locked 144fps on anything graphics intensive. You're deluding yourself if you think you are. My rig is an i79700k, RTX 2080, 32GB of ram, and even I can't maintain 144 consistently on a lot of stuff. Also, 60-144 isn't nearly as big of a jump visually as 30-60. Diminishing returns and such. Also, most game engines can't be unlocked past 60 without causing weird problems anyway. In the end, it just didn't matter that much to me. More trouble than it's worth. Maybe I'll give it another try in a decade when engine tech and graphics hardware has caught up, but as of now it's kind of a meme.

>Yes. Resolution is a placebo meme unless you have 2020 vision or are playing on a massive 60" TV
Holy cope

fuck off fag, I wanna see what the gaymers are running these days. I've also probably been in this shithole longer than you've had pubes.

The poor & stupid

I’ve got a 75 inch tv. I can tell 1080 but when you get to 1440 vs 4K it’s a lot tougher for me to tell. Running at 1440 is fine for me for the next gen.

Easily

This is such a load of false flag horseshit.

It's seriously such a tiny insignificant difference that people only care about because of monitoring. I'm not coping at all. I can afford a high res/fr monitor, but it's currently sitting to my right as the secondary monitor because my 1080p/60 one has better color accuracy, which completely outweighs the marginal improvements of 1440p 144hz. You're talking to someone who actually built the Reddit™ approved 1440p 144hz rig, and found it fairly underwhelming. I get the idea that it's actually the opposite, where the people who are "coping" are those who can't afford it and have built high res/framerate up in their mind to be some mind blowing change that it really isn't.

You clearly can't afford it if you bought some trash 27'' TN abomination lol.

Believe what you want. I'm typing this on a 1080p 60hz $100 Acer monitor that looks far better in the ways that actually matter (color) than the $400 144p 1440hz Dell monitor sitting off to my right.

>t. idiot
but I was wondering is VA still a meme or is it good IPS alt.?

Post the exact model.

Which one, the Dell or the Acer?

Both

I heard IPS is the way to go these days.

The Acer is without question the better monitor. If you don't want to believe me then feel free to make your own choice and find out for yourself. I'm just telling you what I wish someone had told me before I wasted my money on the 1440p 144hz meme.

>he bought a fucking 24'' TN 1440p screen
user are you retarded?

I prefer 24" over any other size. I don't regret that part at all. 27" is too big and it puts UI stuff like health bars too far out into your peripheral vision. With 24" you can check your HUD without looking away from the action. But yeah, buying a TN was pretty dumb of me. At that point I didn't realize how important it was because I hadn't used a TN in person for an extended period of time. However, that's the way you'll get railroaded if you don't know any better because most high framerate displays are TN, especially more affordable ones. You really will pay out the ass if you want a display with high resolution, framerate, AND IPS.

IPS is a fucking meme, unless you enjoy dark scenes looking like pic related.

Pretty much all 32'' 1440p high refresh displays are VA.
Most of 27'' are IPS.
I have this:
dell.com/lv/business/p/dell-s3220dgf-monitor/pd
And I'm really happy with it. Although my flat 32'' Benq has more accurate colors.
And I'm totally the opposite in terms of size - I'm never getting a sub 32'' display again, if anything I'm tempted to go even bigger next time.
The real estate gain is amazing for programming and I find games a lot more immmersive on a bigger display.

>2012 monitor looks like shit

well duh, monitors have progressed very quickly since then and now there is a classification for monitors

displayhdr.org/

Get a better IPS. Mine cost $100 and there's only an extremely tiny (maybe 1/4") strip of glow across the top. Also, a TN can't display proper black at all unless it's #000000. As soon as you get one shade lighter it's full on gray. There's no room at all for the "almost black" colors that are needed to make a convincing dark scene.

It quite doesn't matter unless you're underaged or very shallow

Medium is the furthest cut off point, playing games on low is just a terrible experience.

Reminds me of the good old days in 2011 when any shitty laptop could play aaa games because they were being made for a 2005 console.

> 32" display
That's a TV. I'll never understand how someone can use something like that on their desk. You'd have to sit 5 feet back from your desk to see the entire thing at once.
About BenQ though, are they generally known for accurate colors?

>1070

yeah nigger it will

I'll never understand how can people squint at 24'' and have a good experience, especially at 1080p. It's borderline unusable, bad enough I have to suffer this at work.
Yes, on the professional line. It's nominally a photography monitor.
