1080p 144hz monitors are way the fuck cheaper than 1440p 144hz monitors
Is 1080p still enough? Should I even care? I have a 5700XT.
1080p 144hz monitors are way the fuck cheaper than 1440p 144hz monitors
with a 5700XT 1080p is enough since you wont have dlss and therefore will never get more than 60 fps on 1440p with that card (except for cs go lol)
1080p is fine.
If you're not gonna go all in for some 4k shit then theres not much point in spending more on some in-between.
It's enough, most games are optimized for this resolution anyway.
depends entirely on what you're gonna play
>depends entirely on what you're gonna play
honestly as much as i want to say i'll play aaa games sometimes it's mostly gonna be stupid indies and ps2 games
so yeah 1080p is probably enough
Sure. I'm only upgrading my monitor when Nintendo does 4K or whatever. I assume that's not gonna be any time soon lol
Asking if 1080p is enough is like asking a woman if a 3 inch dick is enough lol.
the absolute brainrot of zoomers, everyone
Cope, reslet.
1080p isn't enough. I mean, for games it might be, but I happen to use my PC for more than games and then 1440p or 4K is really useful.
1080p and 4k are the standard
don't go for meme resolutions nor framerate or you'll have issues in random games
I bought one used in "like new" condition without any flaws and saved $300. Better than ordering one online, waiting, finding out it has dead pixels and other shit, returning it, and repeating this process you get a perfect panel.
Theres no point in having a 5700xt unless youre going for 1440p. A used 1660 super will play any AAA for the next 4 years on ultra settings 1080p 60fps for less than half the cost
1080P is functionally the wall already for the ideal monitor size of 24". At that point you should aim at getting a 24" 1080P 240hz monitor.
a 5700xt can barely do 1080p/144hz at high settings even in the current day but ok
Framerate > Resolution > graphic settings
Hitting 100 fps is nice and smooth and probably the most important. Resolution comes second because it shows crisp detail especially combined with a high fps. Settings come last, While nice the difference between high and ultra are neglictable in 95% of all cases and do nothing more than hog perfomance. Still, decent settings combined with a good resolution to bring out those detail settings is nice but generally not worth much on lower resolutions that fail to bring out finer details.
For playing shit, filling spreadsheets and watching Jordan Peterson videos 1080p is enough.
For programming and working in 3D and graphic design, 1440p and 4k are better option.
>have 1440p 144hz monitor
i dont think its worth it over 1080p / 144hz
1080p is enough, I use 1920x1200 myself
This just isn’t true. And isn’t true for a 5700 XT. On my ducking 2080 I still play games at 1080. So stop lying. OP don’t get 1440 anything. Get a 1080 monitor and be done with it and don’t worry about the duck waving. I’d suggest a 1080 120hz monitor though.
not him but 1440p works fine on my GTX 1080
And I say a 120hz monitor because it divides evenly for games you may want to run at 60hz and prevents jiddering. 144hz is just pants on head stupid stuff.
There’s a lot of stuff that I have trouble running at 1440 or 4k at the highest settings with a steady frame rate. It honestly made me really regret getting the 1440 monitor and I just exchanged it for a 1080 120 panel.
I find that at 1080p 24'' I need to get some high grade anti-aliasing or else it bothers me. At 1440p 27'' I'm fine with minimal AA.
highest settings are the meme. Just go for high except for textures and never look back
i have 1440p monitor and it's honestly not that great. either go 1080p or 4k
>because it divides evenly for games you may want to run at 60hz and prevents jiddering
That's what freesync/gsync is for retard. It matches your screen monitors hz to fps.
1080p isn't enough anymore. 1440 is a gigantic upgrade, trust me.
I have that card and played Doom 2016 at 1440/120. Maybe because it’s a four year old game. And it’s still not 144. But still...
Will a 1060 6Gb be enough for just browsing+EVE Online if I get a 1440p/144hz monitor? Planning to get a new rig next year, but a new monitor+desk this year. I have a spare 1080p/144hz for other games.
It depends on your monitor size and your ideal monitor size depends on how big your desk.
1080p will do you just fine if you're sticking to 24" monitors or smaller. When you get to 27" and higher, 1440p is worth it.
>I have a spare 1080p/144hz for other games.
I bought a 1440p 144 monitor and used the 1080p 144 hz one as a second monitor. But swapping between the 2 made the latter look like utter garbage. So if you're gonna pull the trigger on one just watch out for that. I eventually just end up selling 1080p monitor and got a better card to run 1440p better.
