Still uses double aa batteries

And here come the poorfag AA battery defenders
>Zig Forums will defend this
>claim aa batteries are better than a charge and play kit
it's the superior option to me due to future proofing, universality, stand by and never having to plug it in.
However we have already had this vapid devate too many times. I'm interested instead in why they shrunk the controller, what's with the dpad amd did they add any features or QC improvements?
>tethered to a rope when your battery dies
>built in battery shits the bed
>have to crack open whole controller to replace it until that one dies
alterinatively with xbox:
>use double a batteries
>take them out and pop in new ones when they die, charge the old ones
>rinse repeat
don't like the idea of using AA?
>buy rechargeable battery for controller
>do the same cuck shit as ps4 controller
or
>buy 2
>use one while the other charges
>pop it out and use new one
>rinse repeat
Guise just plug it in w usb. Don’t even use batteries they are wasteful
>have charge and play kit
>play 10+ hours no need to charge
>stop playing to eat/sleep or go out
>simply plug the controller in to charge
>takes less fucking time than swapping out batteries
This isn't rocket science. Charge it when you aren't playing. Why are some of you retards acting like this is hard to do? Never had my Xbox controller die on me once while playing, and I often will play 8-11 hours at a time.
The ultimate redpill is that AA batteries are obsolete shit and Microsoft is retarded for using them, but despite that Xbox controllers are still the best in the industry.
>calls AAs obsolete
>calls an obsolete controller without gyro the best in the industry
oh no no no rechargeable bros
Get a PlayStation controller. Integrated-battery technology has advanced.
> Muh waggle meme
I'm glad Microsoft didn't include it just to make sure no multiplats will require it.
To me it's just having so many systems.
I get why a primarily console gamer who only focuses on one system would prefer internal rechargeable.
But I now have 4 wii U pro wireless controller, 4 DS3, 4 DS4, soon to be 4 Switch Pro controllers that all use different internal batteries, like 3 different USB standards and the ds3 seems weirdly picky about what will and won't charge it.
It gets annoying to maintain.
On top of that I almost always play on my pc so it's not like I am monitoring these.
I have rechargeables I swap out for my main xbone pad. Have some friends over, were playing a game on my computer? right grab 3 sets of AAs from my giant costco box and we are good to go on the xbone pads. cooping some halo 3? no worries throw them in the xbox 360 controllers. Oh we are playing a ps3 game? right shit they are all dead. let's find 4 usb micro cables uhhh two can plug into the PlayStation. uhh They don't work with these usb wall oitlets maybe this one?
I will give Wii U credit for impressive battery life though.
This. 16ft usb micro master race reporting
I have literally every iteration of PS controller. DS4 is still terrible in this department.
I prefer AA battery over recharge. Fight me.
I can get around AA batteries - at least you can replace them with a battery pack. Lets just hope the XBSX controller at least gets the kind of LiPoly contact charging battery pack that the XBOne Elite S2 uses.
However, the lack of the gyro is the more disappointing thing. It would be nice to have it included just to ensure that XInput support would have gyro as a potential input natively.
Literally just pulled out the battery of my GBA SP because of this
>go to play PSP.
>battery swollen
>buy new battery
>find out it killed the screen when it expandned
>buy new screen
>it is doa
>buy another new screen
still fucking waiting. I just wanted to play some comfy games on the patio
Remember to take the battery out your psp when not in use.
>double aa
i completely forgot these existed. do xbox controllers really use them?
imagine the explosion you get if you strike this with a hammer
kek exactly what it looked like.
don't worry though, I safely disposed of it in the trashcan.
No, they use double a. As in AA. As in OP is a tard
>still works in 10 years because you don't have to crack it open to replace the batteries
shoulds done this
youtu.be
imagine the smell
thank god
What, quad A batteries are the thing??
yeah, i cant think of one device that uses it
>run out of charge
>either get a second controller or plug it in oh wait the wire isn't 10 feet long
versus
>run out of charge
>spend 10 seconds swapping batteries
>continue playing
I am so conflicted on buying one of these. I have 3 xbone controllers and just need 1 more. But should I buy one of these for the dpad/build quality or another bone controller because this looks way to so small.
>run out of charge
>either get a second controller or plug it in
versus
>run out of charge
>have to go to the shop 30 minutes away and pay for batteries
>continue playing
Genuine question: do all Xbox controllers (Xbox, xbox360, Xbox one, Xbox series x, etc) use two AA batteries? None has battery as stock option?
You say that like long micro usb cables are hard to come by or something.
ikea sells a 4-pack of 2450a rechargeables for 7 bucks retard
ebay has USB cables for 99 cents retard
Ever heard of rechargeable AA batteries?
if I wanted to play wired I wouldn't shop for a wireless controller in the first place. I heard a caveman hung himself on a long microusb cable once.
Yeah. PS3 had 1 week battery life. PS4 doesn't even have 1 day.
Thank god. One of the best things about the xboner controller was that you could take all the batteries out and just have the cable hooked up to it and use it as a wired controller. Fucking love that shit. I don't have to overcharge my battery pack OR waste money on AA batteries. Plus it actually helped with controller input delay if you used it wired up like that. I think that's still an issue with the PS4 controller, if you have it plugged in while playing it introduces MORE input delay even though it's considered wired.
Good
Batteries being integrated rather than removable is a bad thing.
Compared to what? An internal battery, that if it dies. You replace the whole fucking controller for 60+ dollars or 3 bucks for AA batteries and call it a day?
>ATM Machine
>DC Comics
>SSD Drive
I only use a 360 controller on my pc. AA batteries are cheap and 2 of them last me weeks since i only use it for certain games.
Your controller has a serious issue. Maybe buy a new battery and switch it?
That's true for DS4 v1 but not the v2.
>DUDE BUT IN 10 YEARS THE BATTERY WILL DIE AND IT WILL BE AN INCONVENIENT UNLIKE THE RECHARGEABLE AA BATTERIES I HAVE TO REPLACE EVERY OTHER MONTH BECAUSE THEY WEAR DOWN MUCH FASTER
Active Pen Stylus and Laser Pointers
The OG Xbox controller is wired.
None of them have a rechargeable battery stock.
Ah ok. I remember that being a big sticking point for a while and didn't know it got fixed in later versions. Thank you kindly, user.
Just open the controller and take it out.
>using wireless controllers in the first place
>putting up with input delay
cringe
DC Comic literally is the name of their company though.
No gyro, no buy
They are. AA are a standard and you will always find a good quality rechargable ones. Charge and play kits aren't good for longevity
Since when is a controller battery 60$s? For 60$ I can buy 2 new controllers or 6 used controllers. You can get a battery replacement for 5$ online, dumbfuck
you could say the same thing about the other 90% of the controller
Also it's possible to make rechargeable batteries modular, before modern smartphones you could replace the battery in any cell phone you wanted without tools.
why not have wireless charging that uses gyroscopes and tracking to send laser signals to the controller to charge it?

>Xbox controller: here are official instructions how to change the batteries, you can even buy rechargeable ones!
>PS4: ....
Provide me official documentation on how to replace a ps4 battery. I'll wait.
I wonder how that decision got made.
>DUDE BUT IN 5 YEARS THE BATTERY WILL DIE AND IT WILL BE AN INCONVENIENT UNLIKE THE RECHARGEABLE AA BATTERIES I HAVE TO REPLACE EVERY DECADE BECAUSE THEY WEAR DOWN MUCH SLOWER
ftfy
idk what fucking magical battery they got in there but it doesn't seem I'll ever need them replaced
All my PS3 controller still hold a charge for crying out loud
