Hypothetical 1:
All the shit she experiences is a fucked up fantasy in her mind, she kills them and blames it on an imaginary demon. Her aunt sends her to a corrupt mental asylum for kids that experiments on them. They give her pills to worsen her mental state and she eventually escapes and dies.
Hypothetical 2:
She has some sort of gift to see/travel to higher realms of existence, and interacts with it through her life until a demon from the realm of death comes through and kills her parents for shits and giggles. Her aunt sends her to a corrupt mental asylum for kids that really is studying their gifts to see these realms via mental illness that experiments on them and they give her pills that heighten her abilities to the point she can literally travel to and from them. She may or may not die at the end, but it doesn't seem to matter as she is some sort of chosen one in the higher worlds.
