The great debate

The great debate.

the answer is pretty obvious

I won, because I have both.
Never again will we have such a battle between companies.

Perhaps it’s time we embrace a third option

I own both and like both
Better than
this thing

Vita. 3DS had all the name brand stuff but Vita was like going back to the 5th/6th gen and picking up weird shit because the box art looked neat.

Vita had a few exclusives and was massively more powerful
3ds had more exclusives but insisted on the 3d screen when that time and effort could've been used for more powerful hardware

little big planet is on the ps vita
soooo.....

There is no debate because Sony tried their hardest to sabotage the shit out of the Vita for some reason. It could have been amazing but they fucked it because they can't win anything unless their competitors kill themselves so they stumble into the finish line, and unfortunately for them Nintendo was competent with their handhelds.

For me it's Vita

One screen.
Feels flimsy.

3DS had better games. Vita was more powerful but lacked 1st party vidya. It has a huge library though so thats a plus.

3ds for actually having games and not flopping before day 1.

vita is the superior retro handheld for emulation, is more ergonomical, better battery life, great homebrews, you can watch anime on it, actually good browser, has plenty of great visual novels and many pc/ps3 multiplat ports run great, truly the first ever true "home console experience on the go". and it has spelunky.
on the other hand the 3ds has the better library of exclusives and native nds support. and it has pokemon, the only thing needed to obliterate any past, present and future competition
i loved both but i rarely had as much fun as when i played psp games on my vita through adrenaline
the switch is also great btw

Vita if you care PSP games.
3DS if you care DS games.

Before them being pirated like now: 3DS
With all the homebrew, PSP Games and emulation shit: VITA
the vita library is quality and all but 3DS has the best first party lineup of any nintendo console until the switch

>tfw you will never get another DS handheld
fuck the shitch.

For me its both consoles that's fully modded and hacked, filled with games and homebrew

i had fun playing persona and killzone on it
sony abandoned it

The general consensus is that the 3DS has the best game catalog when it comes to quality, while Vita's catalog is more extensive but with fewer great games.
When it comes to emulation Vita is easily the best one since it's the most powerful.

Meanwhile I keep finding gems to play on my Vita, then I stream to my PC over USB and play with my DualShock 4 over bluetooth using homebrew to increase the resolution and framerates and other kinds of wacky shit.

It's a shame.

3DS wins by default because you know? It actually has GAMES.

It's a shame that Playstation TV and VITA don't interact in any way.
I bet it would have sold way more if Sony put in the extra effort to make it worthwhile to people who already had a VITA.
No data transfer or using your VITA as a controller or anything like that.

They wanted you to data transfer using PS+ and buying a MC for each.

I don't have a problem with the split approach compared to the Switch, but god damn did they plan to nickel and dime you.

t. PSTV owner. The included 8GB MC eventually died.

Can't remember a single good game from 3ds.

I like them both, after hacking both I would say I like the 3DS more cuz it had some great games and feels like a proper handheld.

Vita can emulate more and has quite a few games as well but half of them are low quality garbage.
Also the Vita is an ergonomic disaster and dont forget the mem card jewing.

>have a 2DS, Vita, and Switch
>played all big Switch exclusives
>played all big 3DS exclusives
>keep going back to Vita
>there's always a new DRPG or Otome for me to play
>buttons on Vita are just perfect
>weight distribution isn't fucked by an extra screen
>homebrew QoL is great
>emulation capability is good enough
Vita means life
>god damn did they plan to nickel and dime you
That was the whole problem with the Vita. If they just let us use micro SD cards, used USB charging from the start and included TV output, it would've had way more selling points.
>Vita is an ergonomic disaster
Feels the best for me over 3DS, 2DS, and Switch. The point of gravity is in the center so you're not fighting gravity by just holding it, and it isn't wide as fuck with no support on the back like the Switch.

Having owned both i liked the Vita better. If you aren't into dungeon crawlers though the Vita probably isn't going to be your thing.

Is super PMD any good?
I have a hole to fill in my heart

Vita

there's nothing to play on 3DS if you aren't fan of Mario/Zelda/Pokemon
