I avtually rather enjoy it especially with the nuance it can add to combat

Parrying every attack when Monsoon starts his Legless Torso Assault is awesome as hell, especially since you'll be rewarded with being able to fuck him up afterwards. Parrying never felt this good.

People heavily overuse the term parry when it's had very specific connotations in games that a lot of other people are far too attached to and are too unimaginative to move past. See: people calling Sekiro's deflect system parries, and this game.

That's why it's shit dumbass. You just press forward every time you attack and you'll auto parry anything coming at you. I nearly no-damaged Jetstream Sam my first try just because of how retarded the parry system is.

In terms of mechanics the parry system in MGR is extremely lenient but the feedback is satisfying so I've seen worse.
Ninja Gaiden has one of the best parry systems without even having a parry system, retard.
Biggest flaw of the game was that the last 3 missions were the same length as the fourth mission. Would’ve been a 10/10 for me if they didn’t rush the second half of the game

Rising's parry system is satisfying for normal players and requires precision for perfect parrying on harder difficulties. Anyone who doesn't think it's atleast alright is retarded
This is basically what I'm talking about. There's both a block when you press Square and the direction of an enemy when they're starting an attack, which people refer to as parrying despite basically working as guarding that works on one hit, and there's also a "perfect parry", where you do that with precise timing which causes an automatic counterattack with heavy damage
Ninja Gaiden (not Black) had a parry that was pretty broken, they removed it in the re-releases.
I know. Awful mechanic, glad they had the foresight to get rid of it.
