It's a zombie. Valve is set on never releasing content updates again (aside from annual halloween maps and that kind of shit) and matchmaking is still infested with bots, by all means it should be dead. But the population is still booming and keeping its corpse raised.

It's been almost 3 years since Jungle Inferno, and nowadays the only time Valve gets off their asses is when there is an emergency like the crate depression, source code leak or bot invasion. It's not impossible they'll come back for proper updates but that chance is extremely fucking slim.
