>Fight 1984 by COMSOOMING!

effectively all he's doing is unleashing a bunch of underage fanboys to shit up the internet by doing this

i'm interested in whether there's any coherent reasoning behind this other than viral advertising and tim's vicious hateboners for extortionate storefront fees

>don't use THEIR monopoly, use MINE

this

Faggot Tim literally pays for exclusivity deals

>defied the Monopoly
Tim, you sold microtransactions on the Apple Store and refused to give them a cut. You're not defying them, you're breaking a mutual agreement you had with them and stole their money.

Why the fuck should Apple get a cut of micro-transactions when they didn't even want them to distribute the product, but the only reason they have it on the app store is walled garden? That's actually monopolistic behavior.

>why should apple get a cut for advertising their product and making it easily accessible on millions of devices
Hmmmm

>monopoly
apparently they don't know what that word means.

So what you are saying is that, when you use Windows and buy software on it, Microsoft should get a cut of all the software you buy on it?

>No, but if you use the Microsoft store yes

Okay, but on Phones they try to make it really hard so you don't even have other options. Apple especially.

>chinks mention only apple
>not google pulling the game off their store
>continues to fight a losing lawsuit now that google joined with apple in pulled their app off their store

this planned lawsuit sure is working out well for epic. seriously fuck all these companies and i especially hope epic goes bankrupt over this stunt

There are ~7-8 billion users on earth.

There are 1.4 billion active Apple devices.

There are 2.5 billion active Android devices.

These are not only monopolies, but bigger monopolies than any other monopoly in history.

Fuck Epic, Fuck China. Go American, Go Apple.

>I want shitty legal precedents set because haha fuck China

You are an idiot. If Epic wins this lawsuit it's a good thing.

>imagine being a bootlicker

a monopoly implies that there is something stopping them from competing. There is nothing stopping them. Epic have their own store that does very well.

You don't know what the word means.

Who are the good guys here

Apple makes China more money than Epic does by an order of magnitude.

1989 Tianmen Square Massacre

Apple for life

Last I checked Fortnite was still on the Google store?

we already live in 1984. the media dictates reality and if you question the narrative you're branded as a nazi racist or whatever

>Tim, you
why do you talk to him as if he's reading this you stupid faggot

no it isnt, if epic wins your app stores get jammed with ads so that they can maintain their stores, its shit

Their on store on mobile devices? No, they don't. Nobody does. Amazon tried to do it and they can't even do it on Android.

>Why the fuck should Apple get a cut of micro-transactions

It's the digital store they manage, on the operating system they made, on the phone they themselves produce and distribute through their own physical stores. Epic agreed on on their terms to get hosted just as much as the average costumer agreed on their terms when he bought their phone and set up an account on their services.

I hope Apple gets assraped in court but their position seems pretty solid and I'm not even sure it can be called a monopoly, since there are different phones with different operating systems out there.

No shit, because Apple is capatalist, therefore based

yeah, I don't know why the fuck that user would think I'm reading this thread

"App stores" are shit. Phones should be open and the only type of "app store" you should have to access is something like apt.

STOP USING 1984 FOR YOUR PETTY SHIT

Stop being so ignorant nigger

>hey put our game on your servers and let us use your bandwidth to distribute it to millions of people for free
>okay that's kind of unfair to us so let us take a 30% cut of any microtransactions you offer in the game
>WOW LOOK AT THESE GREEDY FUCKS

Attached: Stamp_070.png (512x512, 129.98K)

You can still download it from their website on mobile brainlet.

>t. Kojima

epic, did you learn this word today?

But seriously, wikipedia is free you zoomie dumdum

stay seething epic drone

So you think that every time somebody tries to sell software on Windows Microsoft should get a cut?

>But they sell it through the App store

Go install an app not through the appstore on an Apple devices. Now do the same on a Windows devices. Explain the steps for both.
Also, listen to your own words. If the entire supply chain is owned by the same company, but the actual products mentioned aren't the same (You said they do sales and own the store front, but also the devices and physical storefronts) that is a fucking monopoly. Google isn't even that bad.

hmmmmm if only there was a way to download programs onto an iPhone without using Apple's servers...... if only.......

seeyou cant just maintain something for free you chink

The way I see this, 1984 doesn't apply here.
Maybe try convincing me it does?

Epic literally tried to handle distribution themselves. You are mischaracterizing the entire thing.

I think you are thinking as a strict matter of fact that it is physically impossible to complete which is virtually impossible to achieve in reality and not what people are usually referring to in these issues or what the legislation is designed to stop. It is when a company gains such a dominant market position that there is no feasible way for competition to exist. The fact that competition COULD exist does not matter if it is an absolute inevitability that it would fail regardless of the service it offers purely because of the existing company's stranglehold on the service and ability to shut out competitors.

Is this what Orwell intended?

They're parodying Apple, not 1984. Apple chose 1984.

rich ass nigger calls other rich nigger the monopoly man

No I don't think that at all, that's a strawman you came up with. You're not entitled to put your product on an apple device, if you want to you have to operate by their terms and services and in exchange they will support your app.

>yeah brought just download a IDE or compiler and you can install it whats the problem

7labs.io/mobile/iphone/install-apps-without-app-store.html

Does Timmy really think he's going to get zooms to back him over APPLE? That's like their religion.

>apple loses
Great
>epic loses
Even Better

I'm loving this.

then what's op pic?

>charge $200,000,000 for $100,000 worth of bandwidth and server storage
seems fair

You are a fucking retard and a certified zoomer.

It's such a cliche at this point and always seems to be used by people who know nothing about the book and in particular the political views of the author.

I hate Apple but I cannot stand that fucking cunt from Epic
-Ex Epic dev

I see, I see.

A parody of an Apple commercial about 1984. It's one of the most famous commercials ever made.

That's more of a mid 2000s-early 2010s thing by now, user. Zoomers are 23 and the kids don't really care about following brands like their predecessors did.

It's a parody of an anti-IBM ad made by Ridley Scott for Steve Jobs and aired during the 1983 Super Bowl.
It won multiple awards, it's among the most famous and influential commercials ever produced and it's still taught in advertising courses to this day.

What game did you work on?

This. Anyone who hides behind IP law and cries about monopolies is a flaming hypocrite.

Attached: 1454182615723.png (258x196, 110.37K)

i say let them fight.

with some luck, both are gonna burst into flames.

a bunch of autistic underage kids against a huge tech company, can't wait.

It doesn't cost anywhere even remotely close to 30% for service and maintenance, and it's not like Apple innovated shit, they're not paying themselves back for R&D, they are charging 30% because fuck you they can. Maybe they shouldn't, though. Maybe they should eat a dick.

we are heading towards a future where corporations wage war with each other, not countries

cyberpunk but the punk is replaces with corporate drones who fight for their favorite brands.

i dub it corpopunk

This, it's literally not even a good book
"wah my shitty spanish LARP anarchists were subsumed by an actual organised state, I'm gonna write a book about how LEADERSHIP BAD!"
Fuck Orwell, the stupid little pseud, the pretentious cur, who knows nothing except how to whine in just the right tone to appeal to other pseuds.
1984 is a book about a government which is tyrannical beyond belief for seemingly no reason, to no benefit of their own, and to no benefit of its citizenry, because it is simply the author projecting their paranoia onto the paper, for page after miserable page.
All Orwell could think of throughout the entire endeavour was "Authority BAD!" and set out to write a book about the many ways that authority would be bad to a society which cares about nothing but authority, for some obscure reason which has no basis in history or politics, because nothing, not North Korea, not the Soviet Union, not the Khmer Rouge, has ever even approached the level of comically excessive tyranny that we see in 1984. It is nothing more than a farce, which people clap for, because they see in it something which is as bad as they pretend real-life government decisions could possibly be.
FUCK Orwell.

Attached: ashurbanipal.png (1792x3528, 2.03M)

You know this might as well reference the book?

How is that a strawman, that is your EXACT argument.

You are saying that when Apple makes an operating system you are not entitled to make software for it, unless you are willing to go by their terms which requires a 30% cut of revenue from the software produced for the operating system.

Windows is an operating system. The software for it is in fact software. You are implying, directly, not through any leap of logic or anything that Microsoft should be able to force a 30% cut from anybody who distributes software on Windows and make it so you can only get apps through the Microsoft store. (They are also trying to do this, by the way, in case you didn't know. microsoft.com/en-us/windows/s-mode)

You are a fucking retard. Not everything is a strawman because your argument is fundamentally retarded, but maybe you can go work for big tech with that idiotic philosophy.

They seem like brand cocksleeves to me. Look at all the Sony and AMD shilling on Zig Forums, it's way beyond anything seen before.

Epic is not a monopoly, but they want it to be.

Fuck off zoomer.

the irony is off the charts here

Not if you actually watched it.

I'll just assume you're assblasted.

>People fighting for corporations en masse

That is literally what cyberpunk is you don't have to change anything.

>Tim is fighting back against a monopoly
because its not his monopoly
:^)

Sorry, but I don't think reading the summary of a book counts as reading the book.

I'm so mad you can't go to youtube and look at an ad.

That specific flamewar has always been like that since early 2010s.

I like how the short is 4:3, but when the hammer hits the screen, it changes to 16:9

Attached: 1597144283693.jpg (669x669, 36.99K)

Project all you want, but I had watched it before.

At least watch The Pirates of Silicon Valley zoomerboy

Hahaha FUCK EPIC!
Join the fight my ass. This is that demented bastard trying to rake in more cash, just like every time he buys an exclusive for shitty plataform.
Only thing he is good for paying for copies of games, so others dont have to and can go to the seas.

Okay timmy you want your nuggies now?

Attached: Stalin stares at you for an uncomfortably long time.gif (400x299, 2.36M)

>Epic claim that Apple are the ones doing a 1984
>Epic is the one actually doing the 2 minutes hate
Did anyone at Epic actually read 1984?

Make sure you're responding to the right person before hitting submit. You know, put some thought into it.

>Siege introduces wordfilters that ban those who violate the TOS
>"you agreed to the TOS, sucks to be you, mmm shoe leather ice cream topped with polish, my favorite!"
>Apple bans Fortnite for violating the TOS
>nooooooo not the corporino, not the heckin good game

Explain the double standard

dindin is done now.

No, that is YOUR exact argument, imagine writing all that shit like I'm gonna read it lmao. Your chink overlords broke the rules they agreed to trying to make more profit. They weren't complaining about it when it suited them growing their game.

Apple, Tencepic Games agreed to a contract when they uploaded their games to apples store, they broke that contract and sued when apple removed their game from their store.

Where is the rule in Windows tos where it says you can release software on it without Microsoft taking a cut?

Both of those are acceptable. Why are you trying to defend a Chink company? How the fuck could anyone not be taking Apple's side in this?
