I prefer 3440x1440 on a monitor.
However ahen I play on my TV 4k is definitely must.
I could careless about 144fps especially on a single player game or if I am using a controller.
If is a nice plus in a competitive shooter but I don't usually have to compromise there anyway.

Don't worry, the RTX 3070 should do 4K pretty well. Its about on par with a 2080 Ti in raw rasterization, but with tensor memory compression, DLSS 3.0, and 8Gb GDDR6X (22 giga-bit/s vs 16 giga-bit/s), it should easily outstrip it and 4K/120hz or even 144hz should be possible finally.
All for $400-500 ;)

You're not going to have a 58 inch monitor. Therefore you don't really need 4K. 4K only becomes necessary above 34 inches
