Agreed. He was cooler as a sleazy 90's cop with shady connections to Umbrella instead of a genetically engineered mastermind playing 4D chess with everyone. I like how he can get decapitated by a chimera in the original RE1 too, it's a perfect undignified death like when the spitter gets Nedry in Jurassic Park.

For as good as Capcom normally is at rehashing the same shit until it stops making a gorillion dollars, they really easily could've redone the same RE template for a good half a dozen installments, adding new parts of Raccoon City during the same sequence of events following brand new characters, instead of turning the series into fanfic of the original cast. I guess Outbreak was them figuring that out and dumping it all into two games.

i can't into survival horror games but i want to play the resident evil series. i know relying on guides defeats the purpose but do you have general tips for playing the series as a retard that's bad at video games?

If your map labels "Explored" and "Unexplored" it's referring to whether there's still items to pick up in that room. So if you think you went everywhere but you're still missing something you need, check Unexplored rooms.

I've always wanted a prequel set before the Mansion incident. Make the player an Arklay County deputy or forestry service officer investigating the missing hikers and weird stuff going on up in the mountains and getting trapped when their vehicle breaks down and the sun is setting. It's better suited for a smaller scale game, but it's kinda hampered because there were only a handful of zombies roaming around the area and a small pack of dogs at the time. I guess you could stretch the lore a little bit and have a single escaped Hunter stalking the area and mutilating livestock or maybe some mutated insects and plant life deeper in the forest, but there's only so much you can do with that.

-if you play the DS pick uo the new mode,sometimes after an enemy minigame segment they drop items such as ammo and healing
-if you play the Director's cut pick up the beginners mode

Still one of the creepiest moments and best creature designs in the entire series.

I love Jill's bizarre fluctuating accent. It's most noticeable in that scene in the Guardhouse where you find Wesker shooting bees. It sounds like she's shifting between a Canadian and East Euro accent or something.
