Yeah that's not going to happen so long as Apple and Google continue to get a 30% cut from app purchases on their platforms which is essentially industry standard across virtually all distribution, both digital and physical.

About 30% of Fortnite ingame sales on iPhones go to Apple. Epic offers the currency at 30% off by buying directly from Epic. Apple gets butthurt because it means they can’t get their share. Keep in mind Epic makes no extra money from this. They just reduce the price by however much Apple would’ve token in the first place.

Ran microtransactions on the Apple Store version of Fortnite without giving Apple the agreed upon 30% cut for such transactions. From what I understand from that point, Epic claims that since the app was just streaming the game from actual PCs, Apple's being big fat bullies for trying to take the money. Apple countered by saying the whole streaming system was a security risk to Apple Store users, and also give us our fucking money. I hope the legal battle is long enough to bankrupt both companies, but that clearly won't happen, and since I have never used a product by either company and never will, I don't really care what ends up happening.
