I actually think the problem has to do with creativity. In general the most creative people are those who are forward thinking and like to push and experiment with new ideas. Meanwhile this personality trait is almost the exact opposite of conservative "I don't like changes keep things the same way" mentality. I think this is why hollywood and gaming leans liberal, along with pretty much all modern day art. Conservatives really have trouble thinking of new things cause anything new is challenging preconceived ideas.
