It's not even the best game in its series
Gameplay wise is complete shit. The waifu for some reason to me are boring as fuck even if they're well written
garbage nu-rpg
>gameplay is absolute shit
>combat is really bad (although not as bad as Witcher 2)
>story completely falls apart after Kaer Morhen
>lacks edge and atmosphere from previous two games, it's too generic, milquetoast fantasy, feels more traditionally epic rather than dirty adventure
>game is padded, by the time you reach Skellige the pacing is horrible should have gone with original idea and make it into two parts
>witcher batman senses
>Doug is a horrible voice for Geralt, in HoS it's especially visible when Vlodimir takes over his body and he tries to speak casually/with fun but just cannot fucking do it because he also always tries to have this Clint Eastwood expression which makes it sound awkward as fuck

cope harder bbcucks.
TLOU2 already did that.
Yes. Witcher 2 "topped" it 10 years ago.
>everyone only talks about the story and the girls
>because the controls are western trash action
Already was at release and has been many times since.
Hell, since story is all that apparently matters even it's books and show must be better since they have no gameplay in the way.
>combat is really bad (although not as bad as Witcher 2)
But Witcher 2 combat is just Souls combat.
Sorry, but Witcher 3 is way better than whatever rose-tinted nostalgia shit, like Deus Ex or System Shock, that you boomers played when you were kiddos.
Games have only become better.
I just don't like story-driven games. I can watch a movie or a TV show for a plot. Witcher 3 gameplay is way too repetitive for me.
Exactly. Souls combat is incredibly shit and easy. Only grognards who haven't played any actual hard games (aka muliplayer games), would think that exploiting an AI is somehow "hard".
sir you are dangerously based
So a single player can't have good combat?
Yeah, it already has been by nearly every game in existence.
how can you say for sure when you haven't played any of those games?
Witcher 3 lacks ANY edge and brutality of the world that was present in previous two games.
Witcher 1:
>rape and suicide in Vizima Outskirts
>child slavery and organ harvesting/child mutants
>murder out of love, suicide, revenge.
>drug abuse stories
>daughters being kicked out by their fathers and becoming whores
>rampant racism and discrimination
>zelaous "rebelliants" and "holy orders" murdering sick enemies in hospitals, commiting war crimes
Witcher 2:
>Ves is raped
>Blue Stripes are slaughtered (people who befriended and drank and had fun with)
>elf sex slave being held by Loredo for year, forcing her into pregancy after which she killed herself
>kino scene of a father (King) being killed in front of their children
>Triss is tortured and magically compressed, something to be said to be extremely painful
>Geralt says women do not belong in war or in combat
>every sorceress is a manipulative whore that shouldn't be trusted, Geralt doesn't flinch when Philippa has her eyes gouged out by Radovid
>women are responsible for 50% of the shitshow that is happening and basically aided the big invader from South uknowingly because they wanted to take piece of the royal cake from powerful men
>gay wizard is a villain and gets his balls cut off by your bro
Witcher 3:
>Geralt unironically says "ITS MUH CURRENT YEAR" at least twice when encountered with a woman who does "typically manly" things
>game forces you to side with Philippa and the Lodge, cannot ever call her out on the shit she caused in Witcher 2, when Radovid orders you to find her and you talk with Yen or Triss about it, they all act concerned for her and Geralt does too
>Triss torture scene can be 100% avoided without consequences because we always need an option to make sure no hair falls from her precious head
>no harm comes to Geralt or his friends, all tragedy in the world is observed from the side by him, it's just a theme park of a "dark fantasy" world where you sit in a safe spot and can enjoy the show
Needs to be updated. It's 9.4 now.
Exactly. Try playing actually hard games like CS:GO. Hell, even Fortnite is harder than any Souls game, by the mere fact that you're playing against actual people.
What if I did, and since I don't have my brained fulled by nostalgia, I can actually see that those games are way worse than stuff like Witcher 3?
Fortnite is actually really hard game to master, at least it was in 2017 back when I tried it.
You're the one coping, shit eater.
I have never played the Witcher 3
>>no harm comes to Geralt or his friends, all tragedy in the world is observed from the side by him, it's just a theme park of a "dark fantasy" world where you sit in a safe spot and can enjoy the show
None of the things you described in the previous Witcher games involved the main cast, except Triss's capture. And that can happen as well in the Witcher 3.
And there's plenty of rape, murder and racism going on the 3rd game as well.
Just admit that your smoothbrain can't handle that *NEW THING* can be good and *OLD THING* can be bad.
Nope. It's not. I know that Joseph Anderson is shit, but he shows well why the combat in Witcher 2 is absolute garbage.
It's not action combat. It's glorified Witcher 1 combat that is only made to look like action combat.
>It's basically spell-based melee system where even if your sword connects with the enemy, even if you are hugging them, the attack won't happen when you are not locked on an enemy.
>Animations are basically empty and do nothing on their own other than lock Geralt in certain movement and the attack "spell" or "effect" won't happen until there is a registered target.
>The animations are also inconsistent and are randomly choosen from a list. Geralt can do a gap-closer attack when he is hugging an enemy and waste like 2 seconds to do a single light attack, but the other time he will do a spinny move that deals FOUR attacks in one animation.
>Sometimes he won't do the gap-closer and will just whiff empty air.
>Enemy atacks have often twice the range of their animations, will backstab you from 3 meters away.
>The hitboxes for spells and arrows do not matter because the animations and models are not information, it's whether or not the enemy had you locked in and "casted" a "Shoot Arrow" spell on you.
>Geralt has no i-frames on his dodge, which would be fine, but as was mentioned, the hitboxes do not matter and it's a spell/hotbar-based combat system instead. Enemies, however, do have i-frames on some of their moves.
>Enemies can turn 180 and parry an attack that was aimed at their backs.
>Enemies can parry with crossbow/bow taken out because even though animation hasn't started, the game registered that it was already taken out.
>Geralt cannot cancel any move, once it's in motion, it's over. Enemies, however, can cancel ANY move into parry and can even do both damage and block at the same time. Punishing enemy moves or whiffs will never work.
>N-no u!
> I know that Joseph Anderson is shit
I know it's cool to hate on stuff on the 'chons, but it's alright to like something. I mean, you didn't watch a 5 hour youtube video made by someone you don't even like, right?
Stop trying to fit in so hard.
>open world that is full of nothing but bandit camps and monster nests and caves where you'll get autopiloted eventually by sidequests that don't have the assigned monster with the quest until you activate it because the game wants you to spend 10 min doing "Hmm... Claw marks.... A striga?" while following neon glowing footsteps
>oils and potions are 99% worthless because you just chug the passive heal flask then bind the dmg bonus potion
>bombs are pointless because the game is so easy the hardest enemies are the starting zone wolf packs with lvl scaling enabled
>oils are pointless see above
>combat is spamming light attack and quen or alternatively spamming quen, aard and igni and yrden and basically going afk because 99% of the enemies die to aard + stab and the rest get burnt from one igni, otherwise you just run away and let yrden kill the boss chasing you
>gear is pointless once you craft the corresponding witcher set for your build
>everything is just pointless down from how the exploration is so basic that it's rightfully compared to ubisoft exploration, to how the combat is so easy that it's always the best option to just spam light attack and quen
I didn't. I skimmed through the video rather quickly but i stayed for the combat segment.

Easily by Dark Souls, a fun game at least and nit clunky as shit
I love it, but it's not even the best game of 2015
still miles better than witcher 3 cope
Dark souls is the definition of console jank and I dropped the first game at sen's fortress.
Finished Sekiro in like 4 sittings though. An amazing game that's actually snappy and skill based instead of waiting for the enemy to attack then rolling in to do 1 hit and then rolling away jankshit.
>all single player games are shit
>try CS:GO and Fortnite instead
Thanks.
witcher 3 is coomer core mainstream garbage for normies and women, right next to capeshit and GoT.
Gameplay was shit but I don't see how the atmosphere, looks, writing, sheer size of the world and the sheet amount of well written content and characters can ever be topped. Far from my favorite game but in some areas I genuinely think it will remain on another level

How the fuck does Witcher 2 look better and has better lightning effects than fucking Witcher 3?
Pic unrelated?
>But Witcher 2 combat is just Souls combat.
Do retards actually believe this?
