I remember this game getting announced and then hearing some shit about its anti-cheat being invasive and then nothing in the several months since. Is it even popular?

It was popular during the beta but dead now, so makle of that what you will.

It's a Chinese rootkit that gains ring 0 access to your computer and no, nobody gave a shit about it. It's dead as fuck.

Yes, it's called an ad campaign, or shilling. Thank fuck i didn't download it. But they fucked themselves. I read the rules for the beta keys and one was to link my twith account to it and watch streams to get drops.
Instantly noped. Have no twitch, not going to watch and wait for a key like an obedient cuck.
And then their chinese spyware stuff hit and it's a dead game.
Thank fuck i went back to tf2, even with the bots that shit is still fun.

>It's a Chinese rootkit
wow, that sounds bad, could you post a source from a cyber security expert just to confirm? thanks!

It's the highest watched FPS on twitch.

The haters are just out of touch losers.

Lol, shill chimp. Nobody operates like this. People just nee to hear china, rootkit, highest security access on your PC and the non retards will flip out and nope. There's no need for ring 0 access, no other anticheat needs that.

It's the most viewbotted FPS on twitch maybe. No one cares about this dead on arrival botnet Overwatch ripoff.

>no other anticheat needs that.
Except for the two biggest anticheats besides VAC, easy anti cheat and batle eye have the exact same ring 0 access

That only happens when Shroud streams it, lmao

as someone with actual security education, it's fucking exhausting reading reddit and Zig Forums talk about this vanguard shit. You're all such smoothbrain retards.

Literally not true at all.

if you got a brain, you can run sysinternals for tracing brainlet. ez as fuck to do. have you seen the /g/ thread? if not, lurk moar

It's decently popular, going down and down every day though. It was also way smaller than they expected/hoped for. But Riot understands market manipulation and will make sure the game gets viewership records left and right, either through outright botting or doing exclusive FOMO streamer drop shit. And when they start adding more and more characters with unique abilities it's gonna turn into a clusterfuck Overwatch-lite and the competitive players will leave.

>battleye.com/about/
>Fast dynamic and permanent scanning of the player’s system in user- and kernel-mode

ezac doesnt state it directly, but their support page has several references to kernel access specific issues.

Please do an iota of research before opening your brain dead mouth

>if you got a brain
>have you seen the /g/ thread? if not, lurk moar

i refuse to believe someone over the age of 18 posted this. stop trying to fit in

Shroud. Also it's trading places with csgo all the time, an 8 year old remake of a remake of a remake of a 20 year old game. Wait for them to add their next 10 broken characters and see all the competitive players leave.

It's sorta dead but you can find a match surprisingly quickly (I think my longest wait time has been 2 minutes). I play it on a different PC to my main, so IDGAF about le spyware.
Regardless, it's not a good game. Good thing it's free because I would never pay money for it. It's Overwatch but slow and boring.

here's (you)r (you). some shekels also delivered to your valorant email :)

Artificial hype surrounding the game because of "watch to win beta" got everyone watching

People then think it's a mega popular game because "It HaS a lOt Of TwItCh vIEwErS"

Streamers then play it because easy views, easy ads, easy $$$

People start to leave OW to go pro
People start to leave CS to go pro

Viewer numbers are only high when certain streamers play it.

Most recent tournament had 140k people watching

CSGOs finals had 2m

Shrouds return had 500k viewers
DrDisrespects return had 450k viewers

Artificial excitement =/= good game

Were all just brainlets following whatever is popular on twitch and assuming its a good game.

>No, riot didn't pay people to stream the game
>No, xi jinping didn't order tencent to order riot to make a CSGO clone so they could find out what porn you watch
>No, ring zero isn't some smoking gun that they've created a rootkit.
>yes, most anti-cheats have some form of ring zero access (besides valves).
>Yes, you can trace what data vanguard is supposedly sending
>No, it didn't show any signs of sending ANYTHING back to riot/someone else.

these are the objective facts, seethe and rage all you want but this is all reddit sensationalism, and nobody in the CS community took any of these claims seriously from the start.

fucking based

i don't even play the game but this seems to be true, i haven't seen any evidence of any wrong doing yet

>waaaa i got found out waaa

LMAO
Just don't fucking pay. What's the issue there? The urge to rub skins in the face of other players is too big?

yeah it's only a 100 usd for a blue skin brah. no issue :)

just? dont? buy them?

>just
yep, it's 100bux for a paint job

Riot releases a very polished F2P game without any P2W bullshit. Of course the somehow have to make their money back and why shouldn't they just milk the whales with expensive skins? Making a game and having servers all around the world for that game is expensive and I rather have other people run around with expensive skins, instead of them killing me with some P2W shit. Why do so many people think they are entitled to get cheap skins in an already free game?

yeah no issue if you don't buy it.

l fucking mao. is this shit true?
