Why can't Japan be into FPS?

They love airsoft.

There haven't been many good FPSs the last couple of decades. I'm more surprised anyone in the west gave a shit about the genre (outside of retrogamers) for that long.

Japan really like their RPGs with the same story told for the millionth time with a few changes here and there

Fps’s typically put the player in the role of a macho-man, or at least provide the feeling of such.
That doesn’t mesh well with Japan’s majority demographic of sissy girly boys. Being brolic is seen as homosexual there.

Because Japan did not have an FPS boom in the 90s due to them not adopting DOS or Windows until much later.
They had an RPG/VN boom instead with the PC98.

The problem is the FPS scene in Japan consists of people that enjoy Western FPS and they simply want more around them to be into the same games. There's not too much of an audience for JP developed FPS unfortunately.

Neither do Scandinavians who are the best in the world at FPS.

They don't play on PC

This coupled with the fact that only recently nips have been into FPS like APEX is the reason there's no FPS games being produced there.
Give it time and maybe they'll make some geared towards their own demographic

me personally i'd say modern fps's are harder to be good in
like quake requires you to be good by yourself
while overwatch(which is what i play)requires you to be good by yourself and requires your teammates to be good as well to win

Because the devs grew up with these games rather than FPS games
