too much to marathon imo. you'll just lose your mind after playing 200 hours of kingdom hearts games in a row

Just play Birth By Sleep. 1 isn't fun enough and 2 requires too much context from the first game to jump right to it

Each game is 20-30 hours long so you’ll probably burn yourself out

1 is outdated as fuck and you need to put your mind into it to not get bored. But it pays off the most because its well, the beginong and has the most charm. The characters are still getting to know each others.

I wish these got a physical release on boner but I guess I can’t really be mad since they were meant to be pisser exclusives anyways

I played 1 on PS2 back in the day and I remember it being slow af and janky camera that gave me a headache
If the remake is better on these fronts I might get it

Just play 1 and 2. If you like what you played you can play the rest, then realize nothing comes close to the quality of 1 and 2

2 is great for complex and rewarding gameplay
bbs is a rehauled psp game that is ok but also has multiple characters to pick
chain of memories has a unique battle system

1 is the only good game. Just pretend the series ends there and everything that comes afterwards is a non canon fever dream of some yellow gook.

The entire collection is like 10 full 60 hour games, you’ll burn out before finishing. The mainline games (1 and 2) and maybe BBS are the ones most worth playing, if you like those you can branch out to the spin-offs later. Just don’t expect to understand most of the story, it never made sense to me even after playing through most of everything.

1.5 is 1, chain of memories and a movie of 358/2 days.
2.5 is 2, birth by sleep and a movie of re:coded
2.8 has 0.2 (prequel/demo for kh3) and a HD version of dream drop distance.

Yes. I did it during quarantine. There is a possibility of burn out though, I took a break after Birth by Sleep.
1 was great but quite dated. However, if you liked the "ps2 feel" then this is peak. The game gave me such good vibes.
CoM is acquired taste, I ended up just watching the cutscenes on yt. I apprecaite what it was going for but I wasn't in the mood to learn the card game aspect.
2 has extremely awesome gameplay even by today's standards. Probably has the most "cringey" shit of all the games tho, but it also has a lot of memorable characters and moments.
BBS has some good moments but was easily the worst gameplay wise. A huge step down from 2.
DDD is a complete mess story wise but the combat is really fun.
0.2 is short but good.
3 is almost as good as 2 combat wise, has easily the best disney content, but the original stuff takes too much of a backseat until the end.

There's 2 games in the collection that got turned into movies, 358/2 is really enjoyable, Recoded is pretty ass. Back Cover, the final movie is ok.

The name’s are just unnecessarily confusing, 1.5 is a compilation of some earlier KH games, later followed by the 2.5 compilation. Both these compilations were themselves bundled together as 1.5 + 2.5, one single release which has all the games in the series except 3.

If you want to get started with the series 1.5 + 2.5 is the way to go, start with KH1.

I started the first (Final Mix) and it is pretty comfy. But yeah the fighting is very clanky and I am very bad at timing my baseball hit counters.

However you feel about a Final Fantasy X Disney game, the combat and boss battles are extremely fun.

Hell yeah they are. I haven't played KH1&2 since I was a kid so it was lots of fun playing them again. Re:Chain of memories was okay.

Take your time with the games. Try to complete the numbered titles to 100%, the other ones are just fine to move on after you finish them.
