If you like games with no difficulty and that are repetitive, you will be pleased. It's really first RPG. All Paper Mario games are super easy but this one is really a piece of cake.

Stop pretending that you did not avoid fights in the original games. After a single level up in each are the enemies basically give no XP....

The fact that they made TOK after Color Splash did so awfully was proof its already dead, alongside the enlightening recent interview.

TOK is pretty fun. It would be perfect with TTYD's combat but it's still a solid 8/10

I haven't played a Mario Party since the Wii one, which doesn't really count, so I was looking forward to this one. But watching some gameplay vids, the combat system looks to be one of the most tedious and time consuming ones yet. Am I wrong?

Nah mate. The gaming audience has about tripled since Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door.

Deliberately neglecting to tell us if partners were actual partners, whether attacks were expendable, whether you were rewarded for the combat with progression instead of money.

with a proper strategy you can even take advantage of battles to heal yourself without wasting coins at a block or inn

The generics are the only thing that hasn't been a staple and even then they still did exist in TTYD, just to a lesser extent.
