Can any open world game ever top this?
Colton Scott
Cooper Foster
Elden Ring
Jose Hughes
Red dead 2, Witcher 3,
Skyrim was more fun. I didn’t even beat Gannon got bored how easy the first four bosses were and never looked backed.
Caleb Powell
In terms of being a good game? Witcher 3 already did and Elden Ring will when it comes out.
In terms of how good the open world is? Probably BOTW 2 but nothing else
Elijah Wood
YES
Carter Thomas
Yes. Easily. I say that as a fan of BotW.
-Get rid of Koroks and Shrines
-Can only hold 4-5 melee weapons at a time but they have 10x more durability.
-Return sub items and have solid item progression
-More puzzles and events on the overworld.
-A huge Underground to explore full of huge interconnected set of caves, ancient ruins, dilapidated temples meant for past heroes and etc.
-Most of the game takes place on the huge plateau west of Hebra/Gerudo Highlands
-Better swimming
-Balance cooking better
-Fix the weather mechanics
-Less cutscenes and more in game interaction
Ethan Miller
I think the closest contender is Xenoblade X, but I was just really into the designs. It's got the same quality of having really good use of space and constant points of interest drawing you in all directions. More open world designers need to hone in on this skill. There's a fine balance between clutter and wasted space.
Kayden Hughes
Why does everyone jerk off BOTW so hard as the best open world game ever, best game on switch, whatever. Yeah the world is big but everywhere you go its just the same stuff over and over with very little distinction, only the desert felt distinct with its own special monster fight
Julian Rodriguez
because the level of interactivity, freedom, and sense of discovery it offers is unprecedented
Jeremiah Price
Sounds like what BOTW2 could be.
John Hall
lol, witcher 3 fags have no grounds to shit on BOTW, lol
Logan Williams
Sense of discovery lol it’s as shallow as a puddle and nothing of worth to explore except some lame weapon you can find in a million other locations.
Ryan Mitchell
Aaron Myers
Dark Souls 3
Ryan Murphy
maybe the new Zelda... but likely not. I mean, botw is literal perfection and it was such a fresh new experience. there's MAYBE one game like that every 10 years. smb, dkc2, Mario 64, dark souls, and now botw.
notice a theme?
Ethan Harris
this is the highest rates ps game? hahahahahaha next post ill post the switch ratings
Isaac Torres
or a fun enemy to fight or a shrine or a side quest or a useful item u faggot. at the least, it satiates your curiosity
Ian Johnson
Greedfall
James Baker
sorry user it only went to 25. all rated better than your trash sensei game
Hunter Gomez
Ghost is phenomenal with a decent story, great combat, but the exploration is never as rewarding as it is in BOTW. Sequel could knock it out the park though if they introduce more weapons and quests
Noah Campbell
>Talking simulator
YAWN. Witcherfags are so boring
Caleb Howard
>fun enemy to fight
That I've already fought tons of times. Why explore somewhere new if its exactly like where I've ready been
>a shrine
Most are not good and again most feel samey
>a side quest
RARELY. Hardly ever
>useful item
Not really, the weapons repeat then its just inventory management of what weapon do you wanna get rid of for the new one that drags everything to a halt the more slots you get
>satiates your curiosity
Not really. The labyrinths, the gauntlet mode island, and finding the dragons for the first time are the only exceptions
Brody Taylor
It's going by user score, read the article doofus
Caleb Ortiz
u sound like u played a lot of it and burned out user. I am about 20-30 hours in and right now and only few games have replicated this sense of excitement every time i play. I can only think of bloodborne, ninja gaiden, witcher 3
Matthew Nelson
>enemy
same enemy you fought a million times. Skyrim has more diversity
>shrine
Most are piss poor Mario galaxy easy
>side quest
There was maybe one memorable side quest this game also had the worst npcs of any Zelda game
>useful item
No item in this game is “useful” they are all cookie cutter crap
>faggot
Lol so mad people don’t like your crap game
>satiates
Elijah Mitchell
all open-world """games""" are equally garbage.
Dylan Jones
linear games are worse
Matthew Mitchell
I would rather a strongly designed, tight linear gameplay experience than a weak sauce open world where everything has to be generic
Jaxson Green
Like what? I am in the same boat as you, but its increasingly rare to find a linear game as you describe
Benjamin Gonzalez
Linear games are just small open world games with the same depth so no, open worlds are better and you have shit taste
John White
But not the same balance or progression. Everything needs to be open, so they usually rely on things like level scaling enemies to create some semblance of difficulty scaling.
