It already got reimagined for the Wii.

lol
not happening ever unless konami goes bankrupt

Hopefully never.

35%

It doesn't need a remake it still plays fine like it did 20 years ago

Zilch. Silent Hill is a dud franchise that nobody has given a shit about since 2001.

t. Penn Jillette.

Please no, just leave it alone.

pls god no

>implying Silent Hills wouldn't have become the best-selling game in the franchise were it allowed to happen

I mean, it plays like shit but I guess that's the point

Someone post the modern SH2 gif!

>the best-selling game in the franchise
You do know that's not a very high bar, right? The highest selling game in the franchise only sold a couple of a million. That was 20 years ago.

I will never understand why people keep insisting on more Silent Hill games. The series quickly lost steam. And I doubt this series ever sold as well as Resident Evil. Let it die. We don't need another SH game where Pyramid Head makes an forced cameo and sexy nurses show up for no reason. And don't even get me started on how hideously bad the monster designs are in games like Downpour. Silent Hill needs to be dropped already.

The only tolerable thing that could be done is bringing back Team Silent somehow and having them remake Silent Hill 1-4, but that's not going to happen even if they reuse assets like how Resident Evil 3 Remake did. So just let it go. Silent Hill is a burned out series. Let it die. As unlikely as it is, I prefer Konami or Hudson making new games.

Konami is currently enjoying it's literal fifth year of consistent profit thanks to mobile gaming. So no, Konami is not going to go bankrupt. The only way new videogames for console get created is if the president of Konami is replaced by someone who likes funding game development. That's the thing, remember the PS2 Silent Hills or Castlevania Lament of Innocence? Those were created when the president of Konami was a chill man, it was his son who replaced him who hated game development because it was too costly.

It plays pretty good. Some of you anons really need to play some shit survival horror games for comparison.

0 DuskGolem the original leaker has been discredited now fuck off

I disagree. A big thing in Silent Hill games is the main leads are ordinary people, so when I see that horrible prototype I see a Hollywood celebrity being playable and that takes me out of the game immediately. That was always going to be a bad idea.

>And I doubt this series ever sold as well as Resident Evil.
It did not. Not even close. The collective sales of every Silent Hill game ever made didn't sell as many copies as just Resident Evil 4, 5, 6 or 7 sold on their own.

of course it has Kojimas name on it retards would buy a plastic bag filled with shit with a sticker of his face on it and rate 20/10

factually incorrect

Didn't Konami make that game Skelattack? Or was that not created by Konami? Thanks in advance.

RE5 alone outsold every single release COMBINED including post TS games

>too costly

The funny part of the equation is that in the long term realistic games are cheaper to make because you can simply reuse assets after all a tree in a realistic game will always look the same as a tree in another realistic game. Cartoony games all have differing art styles so you need to create assets for those entirely from scratch most of the time making them more expensive (unless it's like Dragon Quest where the franchise has one single absolute art style that it cannot deviate from or you piss off the fantards).

Yeah, that's what I was saying. Each one of the Resident Evil games I listed sold more on their own, not collectively, as the entire SH franchise did collectively. The Resident Evil franchise in its entirety has sold over 100 million games. The Silent Hill franchise didn't even crack 10 million. Like I said, it's not even close. The Silent Hill fanbase is utterly deluded in thinking it's at hugely popular and beloved franchise.

too many rumours for it to all be nothing. basically its confirmed git hyped.

I'd say it's pretty beloved but it certainly never felt like it was ever all that popular even at its peak

whogives a shit if its popular? sh1-4 are kino games and another sequel by the same team would be more than welcome

>sh1-4 are kino games and another sequel by the same team
What do you mean "same team" Every Silent Hill game has been made by a different team. "Team Silent" is a myth. Every game had a different director, different writer, etc. The only thing that remained relatively consistent was the monster designer and guy who did the music.

Unpopular opinion but anyone else think that Silent Hill is a series that got worse with better graphics? At most I tolerate the visuals from the PS2 games. Ideally I like how rough and abstract Silent Hill 1 looks, it made things creepier.

By the time we got stuff like Homecoming and Downpour I think the universe of Silent Hill looks way too "clean" and not as decayed which adds to the allure of the franchise in making it unsettling. How should I put it, the mansion from Resident Evil 7? That feels more like Silent Hill due to how rotted and falling apart it looks.
