Animal Crossing New Horizons

Did anyone else just stopped playing? What a waste of money.

I still find it relaxing to check out my island for a few minutes every day, but I do hope that they keep developing it a lot more

It's a gutted game. Almost no furniture, shit RNG and they're drip feeding us content that should have been in the game and people eat it up. NH is soulless. Fucking Pocket Camp ruined everything.

I enjoyed what I played of it but the severe lack of QoL made the main things I wanted to do it incredibly tedious. terraforming is terribly slow and the lack of a cursor makes it easy to click the wrong spot.
Meanwhile, catalogue completion is impossible to keep track of because there's no indicator of whether you already own an item, and if you want to buy all the clothes every day you're going in and out of the dressing room for 20 minutes.
Crafting is also good in theory but typically inconvenient, materials in your storage should work, you should be able to make multiple of a thing at a time, and tools should never break (or at least the gold ones).

It's a nice game and hopefully the updates can improve it more but I don't expect Nintendo to solve these main problems.

God awful rng that gives me the exact same fucking DIYs again and again and again so I can never have new furniture, and the shit sold in the cranny is always garbage as well. Also gold items shouldn't fucking break, end of story

all that crafting bullshit is terrible, i've been back on new leaf for months now

I do my daily chores

I got hundreds of hours of entertainment out of it, not bad for 60 bucks

Animal crossing, at its core, is a game that should take years. The problem with new horizons is that they took this idea to the extreme by inhibiting players from stuff that should be in the game day 1 by adding them in months to years down the line. Who the fuck knows when we'll get brewster or celeste but thats just the experience. You play an hour every day/two days and keep going.
Personally I bought it day one and after a couple of months, I went back to playing city folk on my 10 year old save file since its my favorite. Maybe by next year the game will be complete but in the end, nintendo really did a crummy job by essentially selling an early access game for full price.

>Got nearly every DIY
>Every square foot of my island is has things exactly where I want them

If dream islands worked like the Happy Home Showcase there would at least be something of value there to keep me playing.

found the retard

i bought it, played it for about 10 minutes and never played it again.

I just got a 5 star island yesterday and now have no motivation to play until the next big update. Hopefully they add in Nintendo items like the triforce, as well as gyroids and unbeatable tools

>You play an hour a day
Impossible. Everything is too goddamn fucking slow and time consuming. If I wanted to relax, i'd walk around my island, talk with the citizens, fix a few terraform things like minecraft, but no, you can only do one thing a day and catching 10 bugs takes 20 minutes. No point in such big time waste.

>Did anyone else just stopped playing?
Yes
>What a waste of money.
No. I got 300+ hours from it, which is still fantastic value for money. It just fucking blows how this games as a service trend is dripping into every single facet of vidya and we're getting a game like ANIMAL CROSSING launching with cut features to slowly sprinkle out over the course of 12 months minimum.

I'm waiting for autumn in-game because it's my favourite season and I have a bunch of ideas for furniture arrangements and outdoor areas. Summer stuff is pretty boring.

I stopped playing, but got over 200 hours out of it, so I wouldn't say it's a waste of money. Will probably pick the game back up around holidays.

I stopped playing in may, but I still put in 150 hours. Once you get done terraforming your shit there isn't much there to keep you coming back.

Reminder this glorified mobile game sold more than the entire metroid franchise

Maybe they should make a good Metroid game.

Wife and I both stopped playing. I stopped because of the dozens of qol improvements that would take five seconds to code that they refuse to do and the villagers always having an annoyed tone in their speech. Those things are anti comfy

>Southern Hemisphere
>Getting all this summer content in the middle of winter
FUCK OFF WITH THIS SLOW DRIP FEED OF CONTENT

I've taken a break, but I'll be back to it soon.

Haven’t touched it since may because i want the updates to stack up so I have more to do when i’m bored.

>check ables
>check nooks
>check nook portal
>hardly bother with fossils or rocks anymore
>maybe talk to someone while doing these
I dunno man.

Same. I clocked in 200 hours before, so I'm already satisfied and I'm looking forward to fall stuff.

Takes forever to fill out the art museum. What were they thinking?
Can’t bulk craft Manila clams/tools. What were they thinking?
Have to go through 10 pages of blathers level dialogue to visit someon AND STILL have to watch a minute long cutscene whenever someone else leaves OR enters. What were they thinking?

I got Leopolds birthday going on. Anyone want to pop on over and celebrate?

It's like, you want to believe that they think their game and dialogue and shit is much more charming than it is. Because the alternative is they're basically giving us the finger

Still playing it. Have my grievances, no bulk crafting, repeat diys, etc, but the island editing, plus that design website really activate the autist within. I think I have gotten more than my money's worth tbqh famalam.

I'm still checking in every day, but it's mostly just because of autism, I don't find it particularly fun anymore. Still, I've put over 400 hours in already, so I've more than got my money's worth.

Oh AND they fucked up the cool shades. They look like a plastic toy for 5 year olds now.

It has potential but right now it’s like 65% of a game and 40% of that game is full of terribly slow design choices.
