If they had removed the whole sequel plot and went with an actual remake it would have been fine. Taking away that, the remake was pretty much everything I wanted in a remake and I genuinely enjoyed it otherwise.

By the time this thread dies nobody will have posted a good reason for the inclusion of the time jannies, or why the story of FFVII needed alternate timelines.
