One player, with Puff has dominated for three years. This doesn't make puff a top tier character, it makes Hbox a top player. The same as Axe with Pika for example.

Icies are B tier or bottom of A tier, but also an under developed character with variable potential outside of wobbling. Puff is somewhere in A tier.

SS / S Tier would of course be:
Fox
Falco, Marth, Sheik.
With Falco / Marth interchangeable for being second best character.

Only top tier characters can dominate. Fox, Falco, Marth, Peach, Puff; all top tiers. Axe hasn't dominated at all, and his character's weaknesses are clear and limit his results.

How come no other puff is winning tournaments? There's plenty of players out there who only want results, and many PR's aren't being led by a puff main despite the characters unpopularity.
I'm not denying it hasn't got potential and clearly puff is a good character but I would argue for the wider scope of the melee competitive scene that puff belongs in A tier. Fox, one of the most played characters has multiple kill confirm set ups on Puff under 60% which is one of puffs fatal flaws which is taken advantage of by a lot of the cast.

leaving puff out of the equation entirely; my argument is that marth is easy to play and abuse for newer players over more honest skill adjusted characters.
To be anywhere half decent with Spacies, Falcon, and any other character below S tier, takes a fair amount of tech skill and practice to succeed with. A lot of players I've had the chance to play and talk too take marth because he's incredibly easy to pick up and win with.

That's not true at all, retarded Smash fag. Tiers are not decided by who is winning Tournaments, they're decided by who is winning the most matches, by what margin, and in which brackets.

Just because 1-2 people do well with a fighter, doesn't automatically make that fighter god-tier.

I think we're just disagreeing on what top tier is. I'd agree Puff is A tier, probably worse than Marth and Fox, but better than everyone else. A tier is still top tier in my opinion though, the definition really just encapsulates the top 5-6 to me.

As far as no other Puffs winning tournaments however, you could make that argument for any other supermajor champion. There's only 1 person for each character that DOES win tournaments. If you're talking about on more of a local/regional level, there are tons of great Jigglypuff players.

You just contradicted yourself, you retard. What you're quantifying tier placements with is exactly the same as deciding tiers by who's winning tournaments. Obviously the best player (a Jigglypuff main) is going to win the most matches, win by an absolute blowout the most, and in professional brackets. Unless you're implying a character like Fox and Falco should be top tier simply because they're much, much more popular to play than Puff and "win the most matches" because of that.

peach has the same “if you don’t kill me I’m getting back and there’s nothing you can do about it” factor as puff but fox’s recovery has the most mixup potential by far
