No

Yes, you posted four games instead of three.

It's been some time and I still dunno how to feel about Astral Chain.

It's like... a solid 7 or 8/10 game for me.

I loved it as I played it, but there's no moment I look back and go "ah, a masterpiece".

Meanwhile MGR is just... the whole damn game is a masterpiece.

Yeah, you have bad taste for putting 2 over 1 and MGR is really basic in mechanics and depth compared to TW101 and Bayo

Yes, I've noticed Op is a faggot.

>astral chain
worst non licensed platinum game

The only people who hate on bayo 2 are retards who never played it because of exclusivity or people who """"played"""" it through botched emulation with bugs out of the ass.

Incorrect, I've played bayonetta 2 because I actually own a wii u, it's a better game for people who don't like platinum games but when you start going through it again for plats and jeanne mode the issues become really clear.

>trinity
>five games

>Notice anything?
That if you included Automata and Vanquish you'd have pretty much every major release they've made?

How good is Vanquish anyway? I'm more of a shooter guy so is it possible it'll be my favorite Platinum game?

>bayo 2
get this unholy filth out of my face, only the original was by kamiya

No Vanquish or NieR Automata, both of which have more mechanics and deeper combat than MGR and Astral Chain. AS in particular is held back a lot by the Switch.

>nier automata
>one of the most shallow platinum games made
>deeper combat
Tits are not "deeper combat", you imbecile. Astral Chain is by far their most technically advanced game and you probably played it on easy or didn't play it at all seeing your retarded post.

>Bayonetta 2 over 1

This is how you instantly spot someone who was complete garbage at Bayonetta and likely didn't even play NSIC in either game

>Nier
>Deep Combat

t. Can't JC, DJC, don't know about weapon's abilities and never experimented with pod programs
It isn't Bayo or DMC-tier deep, but it is certianly deeper than MGR and AS.

>he thinks nier is deeper than AS
neck yourself.

>W101
Factually great
>Bayo 2
Worse in every way to Bayo 1 except art design and having no insta death qte
>Astral Chain
Jack of all trades, master of none. Great soundtrack though
>MGR
Just a fun ass game right there.

Astral Chain sucks. And W101 too.

MGR is quite a spectacle but I don't think mechanically it's that great. W101 is their best game by far.

I'm glad Kamiya learned his lesson from Bayonetta and gave the final battle with Vorkken its own separate level.

Bait

remove w101

The only good cloverplat game is viewtiful joe.

Bone Collection should have been an Astral Chain style game instead of a manga, Astral Chain expect you can switch between far more weapons rather than switching your companion would be cool and a video game allows you to easily get a good balance of action and comedy which is somewhere the manga struggled.

>no argument
Thank you for letting me know how butthurt you are. Feel free to kill yourself now, faggot.

I like MGR a lot but I feel like Zig Forums treats it like it came from heaven. It's a very fun game, the combat is great. It's not as deep as DMC or Bayonetta but the addition of a parry and zendatsu makes it so the combat rewards skill, depth isn't necessarily everything. It rewards skill very well and looks great, it's one of best combat systems of the genre. The story is pretty fun and fast paced. But I feel like people give the game too much credit, especially the story. The story is an objective downgrade from MGS4. Lots of the themes and subjects of MGS4 were dropped to make MGR story happen. "The world without Snakes" that Solid left for Raiden isn't really shown. Even Raiden's own personal story from MGS4 is dropped. Raiden's depth is kinda lost and replaced with edgy "Jack the Ripper" stuff. MGS4 changed the status quo insanely in a world shaking way but MGR just kinda returns to familiar territory and plays it safe. I like the MGR story and recognize that it is a spin-off that doesn't continue the main story but people don't seem to notice that. Zig Forums acts like it's story is one of the best in Metal Gear without realizing how much was downgraded from the mainline games. It's a spin off game that people act has a better story than the main games

Snoys still SEETHING the review bomb backfired

>snoys
I got W101 and B2 on wiiu, way better than astral shit

W101, Bayonetta 1, and Astral Chain is the holy trinity.

I expect Project G.G. to join them.

I got it day one. Its very mid.

Yeah astral chain is all right but it really didn't earn having 71 extra missions
By the time I got S+ on the final boss at the higher difficulty I felt that I mastered the combat system and there was really nowhere to go past that
Styiling for the sake of it is not much fun either
Overall it's a fine action adventure game with better combat than most but it's not as good as other pure action games, I would agree it's like a 7 or 7.5

Is Astral Chain better than, say, Transformers Devastation? I enjoyed the shit out of that.

>it's one of best combat systems of the genre.
I would not go that far at all. Basic combat gets extremely repetitive because of how strong of a tool your blocking is, in addition to how forgiving it is with the timing windows. When you get good enough to consistently perfect parry, it's such a strong counter that there is no point in doing anything other than perfect parry. While there are combo chains, there's so little point in actually doing them, because at any point in time someone might come up to attack you, giving you a free PP. So encounters are essentially just mashing the attack button until you get a red flash of oncoming attack, when you can then instant kill them.
Subweapons and items are extremely clunky to naturally implement while playing. On the weapons, the only one that adds a respectable amount of move possibilities is the pole arm. The Sai might be useful sometimes for a quick stun and tether, and the pincer only really good for a giant hit, that's all they do. On the items the only time I remember actively using the stinger was during Sundowner's fight to take out the helicopters and the EMP grenades on Monsoon.
